No, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle doesn’t have Denuvo, Bethesda confirms

Bethesda has confirmed that the full launch of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will not include Denuvo DRM technology. After an update on the Steam backend appeared to indicate that Denuvo had been added to Indy’s new adventure at the last minute, publisher Bethesda has publicly put the rumor to rest. An early build of the game did use the anti-tamper technology, but that was to prevent leaks ahead of launch.

With the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle release date mere days away, rumors were just swirling as to whether or not the upcoming PC game includes Denuvo DRM. An update on the Steam backend from Wednesday August 4 appeared to indicate as much, but that’s not quite the case.

To confirm if the DRM software is in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, I went to ZeniMax. Then I was directed to a new post from the official Bethesda Twitter/X account, which confirms that Denuvo will not be in the full game at launch.

“Indiana Jones and the Great Circle does not include Denuvo. It was only in review builds for leak purposes,” Bethesda writes. So there you have it, the full launch will not have Denuvo DRM.

DRM technology is still a hot topic these days, with many games making a point of adding it or choosing not to. Denuvo is typically a controversial addition to games, as while it protects from piracy many players allege that it makes releases run worse. Assassin’s Creed Shadows will launch with Denuvo, with other releases like Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and Space Marine 2 making a point of confirming it will not be in the game.

If you’re still picking Indy’s latest adventure up, there’s a way to get Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for free at the moment, thanks to Nvidia. If you upgrade your current GPU to a select Nvidia one, the purchase also comes with a copy of the game. It needs to be an RTX 4070 or above, or a laptop with the same specs, so keep that in mind.
