Minecraft’s new drop includes a spooky biome and an invincible mob

If you’ve been looking for something to freshen up your Minecraft experience, Mojang’s latest game drop might be exactly what you’ve been waiting for. While nowhere near as sizable as the updates of old, these smaller but more frequent game drops get new content into the sandbox game as quickly as possible. The latest, which is called The Garden Awakens, is now live, and it adds a spooky new biome, new materials, and a new mob that’s straight out of a horror movie.

Let’s start with that biome. The Garden Awakens brings the Pale Garden into Minecraft. This new biome resembles a gloomy forest and is filled with new sets and material blocks, such as pale moss, pale oak, and resin. You’ll also encounter plants called Eyeblossom, which seem quite normal in the day, but at night, they’ll open up and reveal their glowing, eye-like flower within. It’s certainly the sandbox game’s creepiest biome.

Pale Gardens also contain another new block called a Creaking Heart, which is important as it’s a spawning point for the brand new mob, the Creaking. The Creaking is unique in that it cannot be killed – any attempts to swing a sword at it or blow it up with TNT will be all for nothing. However, just so long as you’re looking at one, they will remain still – the second you look away though, they will begin to chase you.

While attacking a Creaking won’t do damage to it, it will generate the new resin material, which will spawn on the nearest Creaking Heart where you can collect it.
