Wolverine is getting an alternate Marvel Rivals skin based on his appearance in this year’s blockbuster hit Deadpool and Wolverine. Logan was one of the most recent characters confirmed for Marvel Rivals, which will finally launch in full on December 6. The X-Men’s flagship member has a new look in NetEase’s online multiplayer battle royale, sporting a yellow and blue jacket, a black shirt, and dark jeans.
However, while many of Marvel Rivals’ character designs have been well-received by fans, gamers have been less than thrilled about Wolverine’s new threads. Ever since the Marvel Rivals version of Wolverine was revealed late last week, players have taken to social media to voice their opinions on Logan’s divisive look, with some calling the “jacket and tank top” outfit generic and others questioning the hero’s hairstyle and body proportions. Some Marvel Rivals players don’t mind this take on Wolverine though, and others have simply said that they’ll wait for an alternate skin to be released.

Marvel Rivals Is Giving Fans a Free Skin
NetEase Games surprises fans by announcing that all players will have the opportunity to claim a free skin within Marvel Rivals upon release.
At least one of those alternate Marvel Rivals costumes has been revealed for Wolverine, and it is one of his most popular looks in recent years. Twitch user and gaming streamer Sacriel checked out the Marvel Rivals Store page while streaming the game, giving viewers a look at some of the alternate skins that will be available to purchase when Marvel Rivals goes live on December 6. Included in this list is Wolverine’s yellow and blue attire from Deadpool and Wolverine, which was already met with high praise from moviegoers for finally putting Hugh Jackman in a comic-accurate costume. It will cost 1800 of Marvel Rivals’ yet-unnamed currency.
Marvel Rivals Includes MCU Wolverine Skin
Wolverine isn’t the only hero with an MCU-inspired alternate skin in Marvel Rivals, as the store page also offers Black Widow’s white armor from 2021’s Black Window film, Loki’s green robes from the second season of Disney Plus’s Loki series, Scarlet Witch’s costume from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and a bundle of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 skins for Star-Lord, Mantis, Rocket Racoon, and Groot. There will also be armored skins for Captain America and Hawkeye, as well as a gladiator-like “Green Scar” outfit for Hulk.
This seems to be just a small taste of the alternate content that will be available to purchase, and there have already been several free Marvel Rivals skins confirmed for the game’s full launch later this week. This will allow players to choose a different look for their favorite character – which will certainly be a boon for fans who aren’t too keen on the default appearance for heroes like Wolverine.
