Wood is one of many crafting materials you’ll use in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. It may not be used to make clothing, but Wood is one of the most commonly-used materials in crafting recipes. While there’s no shortage of trees in Pocket Camp Complete, you can only collect the Wood material from requests and goals. Again, since it’s used often in recipes, you’ll want to know how and where to farm it as soon as it becomes available.

Which Animals Give Wood?
You’ll notice some new faces appearing on the Map in Pocket Camp Complete. This indicates a villager that you can potentially invite to your campsite once your Friendship Level is high enough. You will need to reach Level 3 Friendship with the respective villager. The obvious method to gain Friendship Exp is to speak to them and select the dialogue choices in red. If your character has any items that the villager is looking for, then you can turn them in and raise friendship. You will also receive a Request Reward for doing so.
Each animal species will give you Bells and a type of material for completing their requests. This means that Wood is only distributed by a select number of animals. As such, you’ll want to know which species you should help first. Wood is occasionally given out as an extra for fulfilling their requests, but the following animal species will always have Wood as a request reward:
- Cats
- Chickens
- Squirrels
- Alligators
- Hamsters
- Rabbits
- Frogs
Villagers appear around the Map at intervals, but they’re put through a randomizer/rotated each day. You’ll also unlock more animals as you level up. Regardless, you’re not guaranteed any specific villager/animal every day.
Here are a handful of animals that give the Wood crafting material for completing requests:
- Rosie (Cat)
- Kiki (Cat)
- Filbert (Squirrel)
- Blaire (Squirrel)
- Caroline (Squirrel)
- Benedic (Chicken)
- Egbert (Chicken)
- Rodney (Hamster)
- Apple (Hamster)
- Alli (Alligator)
- Alfonso (Alligator)
- Roswell (Alligator)
- Henry (Frog)
- Diva (Frog)
- Bunnie (Rabbit)
- Coco (Rabbit)
- Snake (Rabbit)
At your Campsite, you may receive a notice saying that certain villagers want to speak with you. When this happens, you’ll have a chance to increase Friendship by speaking to them, changing outfit, etc. In some cases, they’ll want to give you a Gift. Any of the previously-mentioned villagers will give a pile of Wood as one of their gifts.
Other ways of obtaining the Wood crafting material is to complete Stretch Goals. You can only receive Stretch Goal Rewards once, whereas completing requests for the above-mentioned animals will always grant you a bundle of Wood. If you’re just starting Pocket Camp, you’ll receive x30 Wood for the Stretch Goal “Pick up 5 seashells.”

Should You Sell Wood?
You can craft furniture and the like by selecting the Craft option at the bottom of your screen in Pocket Camp. Most furniture will require Wood and some other crafting material. There are some exceptions to this, such as clothing or “steel” furniture, but generally, Wood is a valuable material you shouldn’t sell.
Even if you have over 100 bundles of Wood in the inventory, you will be required to craft certain types of furniture for animals before they can join your campsite. Thus, it’s better to hoard your crafting materials for whenever you reach Level 3 Friendship with a Pocket Camp villager.
