Knowing Who to Befriend
When you speak to the animals for the first time in Pocket Camp, you’ll unlock level 1 Friendship with them. Speaking to them again and having items that they need will allow you to potentially increase the Friendship Level to 2, and so forth. For each Friendship Request you complete, you’ll receive Bells and several crafting materials. Depending on the in-game events, you may also receive an event-themed item as a Bonus.
The animal/villager’s species determines the crafting material they will give you in request rewards. In this case, you may receive Cotton as an extra reward from an animal that normally won’t give out Cotton. However, if you want surefire results for Cotton, you’ll want to complete requests from goats, lions, hippos, mice, pigs, and penguin villagers.
If your Camp doesn’t have any animals that give Cotton, you can swap out your current visitors by tapping the animal icon below the camera icon at your Campsite.
The following are several villagers that will give you Cotton:
- Tex
- Truffles
- Curly
- Rasher
- Hugh
- Chevre
- Nan
- Aurora
- Cube
- Rocco
- Biff
- Bertha
- Bubbles
- Bree
- Rod
- Rex
- Bud
- Elvis
Another way of obtaining Cotton is to complete Stretch Goals. If you’re just starting out, you’ll receive x30 Cotton after you “Catch 5 fish” and another x30 Cotton when you “Reach Level 3.” Unfortunately, Stretch Goal rewards can’t be collected more than once, so once you collect them, they’re gone for good. Therefore the more reliable way of obtaining Cotton is by completing requests for the previously-mentioned animals.
How to Use Cotton
Is It Worth Selling?
You can use Cotton by tapping the “Craft” option at the bottom of your screen. Cotton is one of the most common crafting materials used in Crafting Recipes. You’ll need Cotton for pretty much anything: furniture, clothing, and Amenities.
Because Cotton is a valuable crafting material and can only be received from a handful of animals, you should refrain from selling it. In addition to this, animals won’t visit camp until you’ve crafted the desired furniture. You should save your Cotton for the animals you want to invite to your camp, as they’ll request at least one piece of furniture before joining. If you’re low on Bells, you can sell excess furniture or local produce instead.
