While there have been numerous rumors that Grand Theft Auto 6 had been internally delayed to 2026, Rockstar Games’ parent company Take-Two Interactive insists the monumental title is still set to be released in Fall 2025. On December 3, Rockstar Games confirmed the next major Grand Theft Auto Online update will be released on December 10, but fans quickly began picking apart the promotional image for any signs of GTA 6, and they may have just found one. Twitter user TGG noticed that the keyart for the next GTA Online update features a reference to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, which will of course be the location for the next GTA game. The image shows a GTA Online character holding a collectible item known as ‘The Hidden Package’ from 2002’s Vice City, which some believe is a teaser for the studio’s upcoming title.


Not everyone is convinced though, as there have been a myriad of debunked GTA 6 theories in recent months. While some are siding with TGG and are convinced that this is a teaser for Grand Theft Auto 6 due to its confirmed location being Leonida, a fictional state home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City, others believe it’s a simple nod to the studio’s previous title.

This isn’t the first time fans have been convinced that GTA 6 has been subtly teased by Rockstar Games. A popular theory that has since been debunked revolved around the phase of the moon shown in new Grand Theft Auto Online images, which the community believed was revealing the date for the next trailer.
