A new Genshin Impact announcement has revealed that players will be able to get tons of Primogems for free as a thank you from HoYoverse for the game receiving a special reward. Genshin Impact‘s revenue revolves around its gacha banner system, which allows players to pull for two five-star and three four-star characters per banner cycle.
In order to get new characters, players need to spend either Intertwined Fates or Acquaint Fates, which can be bought in the in-game shop using a special currency called Primogems. Intertwined Fates are usually much more popular since they are used for getting characters from the Limited Character Banner, while Acquaint Fates can be spent to get playable units from the Standard Character Banner.

Fans Hope Genshin Impact Will Follow Honkai: Star Rail’s Lead with New 5-Star Characters
Genshin Impact fans want HoYoverse to adopt Honkai: Star Rail’s approach to introducing new characters, offering fresh takes on existing units.
HoYoverse often allows players to get Primogems for free in many different ways, from completing simple quests like the Daily Commissions to using promotional codes that are given out during every Genshin Impact Special Program event. Another way players receive a Primogem influx is when the game wins an award, which has not been rare in recent years. Since the game launched, players have been enjoying free Primogems whenever game awards approach at the end of the year. A new post on Genshin Impact‘s official Twitter account has revealed that Genshin Impact has won the Excellence Award for the PlayStation Partner Awards 2024. In honor of this win, HoYoverse will give out 1,000 Primogems over four days, starting December 4.
Genshin Impact Players Can Collect 1,000 Free Primogems
The post also confirmed that players will be able to collect these Primogems until the end of Genshin Impact Version 5.2, which should expire around December 31. Many fans in the comment section claim that these Primogems will come in handy in their pursuit to add the new character Chasca to their team. The S-tier DPS unit has proven to be one of the most fun-to-use characters in Genshin Impact.
Players who want to obtain Chasca or Lyney have less than a week to do so, as their banner is scheduled to expire around December 10. Developer HoYoverse has previously confirmed that the second banner phase will feature two very popular five-star characters: Genshin Impact‘s Geo Archon Zhongli and the Hydro Dragon from Fontaine, Neuvillette. Both characters are considered top-tier choices in their respective roles.
Even though the five-star lineup in 5.2 is stacked, many players will likely save their Primogems, as HoYoverse has already confirmed that Genshin Impact update 5.3 will feature the long-awaited Pyro Archon Mavuika. This character has made multiple in-game appearances, and recent beta data has revealed that she will be an offensive unit capable of filling multiple roles, similar to all the previously introduced Archons.
