Dragon Age: The Veilguard features a variety of collectibles you can find in exploration regions and quest areas. They include equipment, mementos, and codex entries, but one of the most valuable collectible is the Evanuris Altar.
Whenever you activate an Evanuris Altar, four targets appear nearby. If you break all four targets, Rook’s health goes up by 100 permanently. The extra health is incredibly useful, especially early on, but not all the altars are easy to find. Fortunately, Evanuris Altars are exclusive to exploration regions you can revisit, so it’s always possible to collect them all in every Dragon Age: The Veilguard playthrough. Here’s where to find them:

The Crossroads
The first Evanuris Altar you may come across in the Crossroads is in the Elvhenan’s Haven area. If you go west from the spirit dock, you’ll find an area with a statue puzzle. Solve the puzzle to create a bridge that leads to the “Cathedral of Roots.” Go through and take the ramp down, then go to the far end of the lower floor. The altar is in its own room.
This altar is in the Converged City area, past the Gate of Lost Ages. You can access it after you open the first set of gates as you explore this section of the map.
The next Crossroads altar is in the Heights of Athim region. It’s out in the open, next to the stairs that lead up to the castle corridor and giant Warden statue.
The final altar in the Crossroads is back in Elvhenan’s Haven. To reach it, you’ll need to get past the Gate of Faded Glories. The altar is on the northeast platform, and you’ll need to climb a ledge to reach it.

Veilguard fans will love these D&D campaigns if they’re looking to get into TTRPGs.
Arlathan Forest
The first Evanuris Altar is in the Riverside Ruins area of Arlathan Forest, which is at the north end of the central part of the map. There’s a fast-travel beacon to the east, a broken bridge to the north, and a ramp to the upper walkway of the Ancient Aqueduct is to the west.
The second Evanuris Altar is in a corner of the Shadowy Grove, which is west of the Ancient Aqueduct walkway. Specifically, you’ll find it at the top of a hill in the southeast corner of the grove, just past a large chest.
This altar is technically in the Ancient Aqueduct area, but it’s on the east side of the big river. From the southern river crossing, turn east, climb the ladder, and the altar is at the southern entrance to the giant tower. You may need to start the companion quest “How to Train a Griffon” to unlock this area.
This altar is in the Tainted Woods area, which is in the northeast of Arlathan. At the south end of the Tainted Woods, there’s a staircase you can only reach by walking across one of two wooden bridges. The altar is at the top of the stairs.
Hossberg Wetlands
This altar is on a balcony at the southern end of Gaspin Manor. You’ll need to start the side quest “An Academic Interest” to unlock the manor, and then jump over a barrier to reach it.
You can find this altar in the Inner Courtyard, part of the Cauldron fortress you can explore after you begin Davrin’s companion quest “The Cauldron.” To find it, go to the Cauldron’s front entrance and face away (southeast). Turn right and go under the archways. Now turn left and walk southeast. You should see the glow of the altar ahead of you.

6 References To Other Games In Dragon Age: The Veilguard Players May Have Missed
Dragon Age: The Veilguard features myriad endearing references to many other games.
Rivain Coast
To reach this Evanuris Altar, you’ll need to reach the Clifftops area and climb up the rocks in the northwest corner. You’ll know you’re on the right path if you need to use Spiteful Aura to summon a platform. The altar (and a large chest) are in a cave at the top of the cliff.
The second Evanuris Altar is in Sharksmouth Mountain, so you’ll have to wait until you can complete Taash’s companion quest “Lair of the Dragon King.” Once you reach the Cave Floor area, you’ll see a spot where you have to jump down to continue moving into the volcano. To the left of the drop is a set of moveable stone blocks. Pull them out of the magma, then jump across them all to reach the altar.
The third altar is also in the new area, but you can’t reach it until “Lair of the Dragon King” is complete. In the Tide Flats is a large ruined fortress built into the side of the mountain. East of the fortress is a natural stone wall. There’s a gap in the stone wall, and through the gap is the last Rivain Evanuris Altar.
Dock Town (Minrathous)
The Dock Town Evanuris Altar is hard to miss, but first you need to reach it. The “Cornered in the Catacombs” quest can open up this section of the Minrathous Catacombs. If you somehow miss this altar during this quest, you can find it again by starting from the Catacombs elevator, turning right, then taking the staircase immediately on your left.
All told, there are 14 Evanuris Altars, which gives you 1,400 extra health if you find them all. There are other ways to increase your health pool in Dragon Age: The Veilguard, but the Evanuris Altars can account for nearly half your health by the time you hit the level cap.
