Balatro, I’m Sorry For Ever Doubting You
It took an entire year, but Balatro has finally cast a spell on me.
That’s exactly where Memorable Games’ On Your Tail comes in. In this cross between a relaxing Life-Sim and detective puzzle game, you play as Diana, an amateur writer who finds herself in the idyllic Borgo Marina to hunt for inspiration after her latest piece gets rejected.
A Cosy Life-Sim With A Detective Twist
Although Diana came to the Italian haven looking for ideas, she gets more than she bargained for as Borgo Marina is being hounded by a mysterious thief. It’s up to you to explore the town, make friends with the locals, and figure out what is going on in the peaceful seaside paradise.
In order to uncover the truth, Diana will have to combine her detective skills with the Chronolens, a magical device which can be used to investigate crime scenes and rewind time to view objects as they were before the crime took place. Doing so will give Diana a better idea of what clues are worth paying attention to.
Once you’ve gathered enough clues, you’ll solve Borgo Marina’s many mysteries by using a unique card-based puzzle system. By placing the cards in the right order, you can see the crime play out in real time with a diorama that reacts to whichever cards you put down.
There’s More To Borgo Marina Than Detective Work
While Diana will have her hands full with trying to solve the town’s mysteries, it wouldn’t be much of a vacation without a break every now and again. Borgo Marina has a ton of unique characters and locals who will want to chat, play games, and perhaps even pursue something a little more than friendship.
If you’re more interested in figuring out the main mystery, you’ll still want to talk to the locals, as they might drop a clue or two during conversations.
Aside from chatting up the townspeople, On Your Tail also lets you embrace the cosy Life-Sim vibes with a variety of minigames that can be done solo or with villagers. While in Borgo Marina, you can cook, go fishing, play marbles on the beach, play at the arcade, and even go for a swim. You can even pick up a part-time job for some extra cash – how you spend your vacation is up to you, after all.
On Your Tail’s unique mix of relaxing vacation vibes and puzzle-solving detective work will be coming to Steam on December 16 and on Nintendo Switch in February 2025.
