Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake is not a game about getting loot and yet players are going to get a lot of it throughout the game. Characters can equip weapons, various pieces of armor, and accessories. For weapons, swords are the most common type they will find and not all Vocations can equip a sword in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake.

6 Beginner Tips For Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake
There are a ton of new and old gameplay features in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake. Here’s what new players need to know when starting their adventure.
Also, not every weapon has to be the best because the stats are higher than the rest. There are bonuses to consider like side effects. These weapons then are some of the best in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake for specific tasks. Let’s go through them all and where to find them.
7 Staff Of Resurrection
Attack 40
- Bonus Effect: Can Revive An Ally When Used As An Item
- Location: Aliahan (Mini Medal Manor)
The Staff of Resurrection does not have that high of an Attack power nor does it boost magical power for a magical user like a Mage. It does, however, have the rare ability to revive an ally if used as an item. Curing the dead in the game is tricky which is why players need every chance they can get. Even if players just keep this as an item in storage, the Staff of Resurrection is worth obtaining. It can be acquired by collecting 30 Mini Medals in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake and then turning them in via the Mini Medal Manor below Aliahan.
6 Sage’s Staff
Attack 84
- Bonus Effect: Heal Allies In Battle When Used As An Item
- Location: Kol
The Sage’s Staff is a stronger weapon technically although Vocations like Mages in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake don’t have to worry about physical strength much. This is an easy weapon to get to as players can buy it in the town of Kol.

This secret Vocation is worth unlocking.
It has healing powers trapped inside which will heal the party when used as an item in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake. It can be difficult to keep the party alive by healing them individually. That’s why party healing techniques are the most useful including this staff and spells like Multiheal and Omniheal which are tied to the Priest and Hero Vocations respectively.
5 Falcon Blade
Attack 55
- Bonus Effect: Attack Twice
- Location: Kol
The Falcon Blade does not have a high attack power but players should still get it for the bonus property. This sword will attack an enemy twice without them having to use it as an item. It can also be purchased in the town of Kol for a hefty price. It mirrors a technique that the hero can learn in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake called Falcon Blade. The technique and sword are good if players just need to make sure and hit an enemy twice like the elusive Metal Slimes that are hard to kill.
4 Assassin’s Dagger
Attack 55
- Bonus Effect: Chance To Instantly Kill An Enemy
- Location: Romaria Castle
The Assassin’s Dagger has an Attack power equal to that of the Falcon Blade. The bonus property is greater than hitting an enemy twice though. It has a chance to instantly kill an enemy but players need a high Luck stat to make this happen in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake. The weapon can be found in the basement of Romaria Castle once they get the Ultimate Key. It’s best to give this weapon to a Thief and then also give them accessories that will boost their Luck.
3 Destructiball
Attack 155
The Destructiball is the best whip-like weapon in the game. Whips are great because they can target a line of enemies like a group of Slimes. It does decent damage and it can hit multiple enemies at once, thus speeding up the process of battles. It can be found in the Citadel Tower which is a dungeon players can only get to once they finish the game. This weapon won’t replace magic that can target every enemy in battle like Kaboom but it’s still pretty strong.
Attack 102
- Bonus Effect: Always Hit Metal Slimes
- Location: Cantlin
The Metal Wing Boomerang is weaker technically but it’s great for one specific reason: killing Metal Slimes. As mentioned before, Metal Slimes can be hard to target and they will run away quickly in battle. This is not good because every Metal Slime defeated will produce a large amount of EXP in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake.

There are a couple of bosses in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake that will give players a hard time. Here’s how they rank in terms of strength.
This weapon can normally attack all enemies onscreen with the bonus of always hitting Metal Slimes. Players can win the Metal Wing Boomerang by competing in the Monster Arena within Cantlin.
1 Sword Of Kings
Attack 140
- Bonus Effect: Attack Enemies When Used As An Item
- Location: Kol
The Sword of Kings is not the strongest sword by conventional means as players can wish for a better one in the post-game. For the normal game though, this is the best one and it has some background to the game’s lore. To begin, players will meet a weapon smith in the aforementioned town of Kol who wishes to get back to a good project. Players then need to get a broken blade in Cantlin, Orichalcum in Damdara, and a Forging Hammer in Jipang. If players bring these items back to the weapon smith in Kol, he will repair the legendary blade. It has a high Attack power and when used as an item it can magically target all enemies.
