One major feature everyone has been waiting for in Chapter 6 is for Fortnite OG to come back. Just like the launch of a new Chapter, OG has had a lot of build-up. We’ve known it was coming back or quite a while, but now we’re finally getting close to its proper release.
In the weeks leading up to this, we’ve seen a lot of news about how the mode will work. From the Fortnite OG pass that’s leaked ahead of time, to it bringing back key mechanics like the double pump. We’ve been getting fresh batches of news all the time. Presumably to keep reminding everyone, that despite the excitement of Chapter 6, Fortnite OG is about to come back.
However, when can we expect the mode to actually become available? While it’s partially in the game already, it’s currently inaccessible. How long is let on the countdown before Fortnite OG comes back?

When Does Fortnite OG Come Back?
Since its first release last year, we’ve been waiting for the original version of Fortnite to return. Now we’re getting really close. The game mode is going to come back on December 6th 2024! Just a few days after the launch of Fortnite Chapter 6 as the main game.
You can see down to the minute when Fortnite OG will come back thanks to the mode being included in the launcher already. You can navigate over to the map for OG and select the playlist. Then, you’ll see a little countdown that tells you how long you have to wait.
We don’t have too long left now until Fortnite OG comes back and we’re expecting a particularly authentic experience this time. In the days leading up to release, we’ve learned that we’re getting the Double Pump back, the OG Victory Royale screen before its current embellishments, and more. It’s really going to be an accurate experience to the early days of Fortnite.

For OG, we’re initially returning to Chapter 1 Season 1. However, we’ll later progress through more seasons of Chapter 1. Going through loads of the classic Fortnite seasons. This will be done on a month-to-month basis. So, we have a month for the first season when Fortnite OG comes back. Then it’s on to Season 2!
