The latest deck, shared on the Pokemon TCG Pocket subreddit, has a different goal. It’s not trying to win a match; it merely wants to survive.
Player Draws Pokemon TCG Pocket Battle Using A Single Caterpie
Reddit user Jumbunckley set themselves a goal within Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket: don’t lose a match where your deck comprises of a single Caterpie, something they finally managed to achieve.
After what seems like a considerable amount of time, Jum ran into another TCG Pocket Player, Okuyasu, who showed mercy on the little bug.
Competing in the random match format, Okuyasu stalled the game for 30 turns without attacking the Caterpie. Despite setting up their side of the table with two Gengar ex, with a combined seven Psychic energies, and two Swoobat, with six combined Psychic energies, Okuyasu resisted the urge to decimate Jum’s Caterpie, which itself had 14 Grass energies attached to it.
This show of remorse ran down the game’s maximum turn limit, ending in a stalemate giving Caterpie its first draw, which is ultimately a win in Jum’s book.
Finding an amicable opposition would always be key to Jumbunckley’s goal, as they would never win a match otherwise, given that Caterpie can’t actually deal any damage. But, as unexciting as it may seem to the standard person, Jum completed their survival challenge and took “Caterpie on his eternal journey of finding a friend” along the way.
