What are Path of Exile 2 support gems? A lot of your power in PoE 2 will come from the passive tree and your chosen skills; these are your bread and butter and will enable you to take on many of the challenges in the game. You can take your build further by utilizing another helpful system mechanic: support gems. Here’s what they are, and a list of every one we’ve found so far.
With the Path of Exile 2 release date around the corner, players are already theory-crafting how they’re going to become all-powerful in the RPG game. We have Path of Exile 2 class builds for the different PoE 2 classes, including the Sorceress, the Monk, and even the Warrior, which goes into skills and Ascendancies. However, there’s another aspect you’ll need to pay attention to if you want to be the best you can be, and that is PoE 2 support gems.
PoE 2 support gems explained
Support gems are items you can find in the world that augment a skill in some way. Depending on which support gem you find, this augment has the potential to drastically elevate your build; it could add bleed damage to your skill, or perhaps add an extra projectile to whatever it is you’re firing. These inconspicuous items can have a dramatic effect on your power if used correctly.
If you find a support gem, hover over it to find out what effect it will have on your skill. If you right-click on it, you’ll be able to add it to an already-learned skill. Each skill can only receive one of each type of support gem, so you can’t add multiple multiple projectiles to your grenade throw, but you can add extra projectiles and a freezing effect, for instance.
There’s a box at the bottom of the support gem skill menu that you can check to only show the recommended support gems. Unchecking this box will show you everything you can add, so it’s worth experimenting to find out what works best for you.
