The Boundless Repository is an area in Nine Sols that players will first encounter while pursuing Yanlao. There is a door with five colorful symbols in this area, and there are several chests in the room that is beyond it. Getting past the Boundless Repository door in Nine Sols can be a bit tricky, though, and this guide is here to walk players through the process.

Nine Sols: Boundless Repository Door Puzzle Solution
The key to opening the Boundless Repository door is hacking five devices that are scattered throughout the area. Each of those devices is marked with a colorful symbol that matches one of the symbols on the Boundless Repository door, and here is where to find them:
Green Device
Players should begin by entering the small door to the left of the sealed door in the Boundless Repository. There are a series of rooms beyond that door, which Nine Sols players must initially work through while avoiding Yanlao’s powerful projectiles. The green device can be found at the end of the first room, just to the right of the door that is used to reach the second room, and players can hack it between Yanlao’s attacks.
Again, it is recommended that players defeat Yanlao before pursuing these devices, as doing so puts a stop to the projectiles that must be dodged during this sequence.
Blue Device
After entering the second room, players should go left and climb down the chain that they encounter. At the bottom of the chain, Metroidvania fans should jump onto the platform to the right and then walk into the wall on the right to find the blue device.
If a player is pursuing the blue device before beating Yanlao, they will need to use his projectiles to clear the block that is on top of the platform. To do this, fans of
2D games
must simply stand next to the block, wait for Yanlao’s reticle to target them, and then move. Players can then break the block to the right of the platform by striking it.
Yellow Device
Players should now make their way to the third room and use the scalable wall and two Tai-Chi Kick circles that they encounter to ascend. The yellow device is directly above the platform that fans will reach upon completing that ascent, and here is how to access it:
- Jump to the platform to the right. This platform will rise when Yi is standing on it.
- Wait for the platform to rise slightly, and Air Dash to the left to grab the edge of the platform with the yellow device.
Orange Device
Players will run directly into the orange device while progressing through the fourth room. Before attempting to hack that device, fans of games with hard bosses may want to dispatch the enemies that are in the room, and those foes’ shields can easily be broken with Charged Strikes.
Red Device
After exiting the fourth room, fans will find themselves in a corridor with an elevator that they can call. Before using that elevator to ascend, fans should continue to the right to find a door that leads to a small room with the red device. Notably, players must input three sequences in order to hack the device, and that can only be done once Yanlao is dispatched.
Once all five devices have been hacked, players should ride the elevator to the left of the room with the red device. Soulslike fans should head left when the elevator comes to a stop, and they will find the sealed Boundless Repository door after traveling a short distance. All the symbols on the door should now be illuminated, and players should interact with the door to open it.
