Disney Lorcana recently broadened its roster of available products and cards with its sixth set, the Azurite Sea expansion, adding characters, items, actions, and locations from the Big Hero 6 and Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers universes. Disney Lorcana‘s Azurite Sea is a rather large set with a lot of good cards for players to collect and use in their decks, ranging from commons like Twin Fire to super rares like Daisy Duck, Pirate Captain. Game Rant recently opened a few products from Azurite Sea, including the Stitch Collector’s Gift Set, Single-Player Decks, and the Illumineer’s Trove box.
With an ever-growing community and competitive scene, Disney Lorcana is becoming one of the biggest TCGs around. Thanks to Disney’s never-ending well of characters and stories, it seems unlikely that Lorcana will ever run out of ideas for new cards and even card types, and Azurite Sea proves just as much. With cards from two universes that hadn’t been included in the game before and more from other Disney IPs that have already made their way into fans’ decks, Azurite Sea is as much for Lorcana veterans as it is for newcomers.

For those interested in the competitive side of the game, Disney Lorcana‘s new set does have several great cards to get. Some of the best include:
- Twin Fire – Steel, Common: This card is particularly good in Steel decks in Disney Lorcana because it can effectively clear aggro boards with just 2 Ink, which is quite cheap. It does require players to also discard a card if they want to deal damage to a second character, but it’s a fair price to pay.
- Calhoun, Marine Sergeant – Steel, Rare: With 3 Strength and 2 Willpower, Calhoun is already a good card for a 2-drop, albeit it’s not Inkable. However, its true power lies in Resist +1 and the Level Up ability, making players gain 2 Lore whenever Calhoun banishes a character.
- Alice, Savvy Sailor – Sapphire, Super Rare: Another not-Inkable character, Alice is a 3-drop with 1 Strength and 4 Willpower that is further boosted by Ward. Able to quest for 2, Alice is a good card, and its Ahoy! ability makes it even better by allowing other characters to quest for more Lore and also give them Ward.
- Baymax, Armored Companion – Sapphire, Legendary: A 5-Ink, Inkable character with a 2/6 body may not seem a great card, but what makes Baymax an awesome pick is its The Treatment is Working ability. This allows Baymax to remove up to 2 damage counters from any character when played or questing, and then gain 1 Lore for each counter removed.
- Genie, Wish Fulfilled – Amethyst, Rare: Arguably one of the most expensive rare cards in Disney Lorcana, this version of Genie is amazing as a 4-drop, 2/4 with Evasive and the ability to quest for 2. On top of that, it also makes its user draw a card when played.
- Diablo, Obedient Raven – Amethyst, Uncommon: Diablo has already proven to be one of the best characters in Disney Lorcana in a previous iteration, and its Azurite Sea counterpart is nothing short of powerful. A 1-drop, Inkable 0/1 character, Diablo quests for 1 and makes its user draw a card when banished.
- Maui, Half-Shark – Ruby, Legendary: One of the best cards in Azurite Sea, Maui is also one of the highest-selling cards in the set both thanks to its Legendary status and how good it is in competitive burn decks. Maui is a 6-drop, Inkable 7/5 character with Evasive and two abilities: Cheeeehoooo! and Wayfinding. The former allows players to return a card to their hand from the discard pile when Maui challenges another character, and the latter makes its user gain 1 Lore whenever they play an action.
- Lilo, Escape Artist – Amber, Super Rare: This is arguably the best version of Lilo in Disney Lorcana right now, as it’s a 2-drop, Inkable 1/2 Amber character card that can quest for 2 and has a powerful ability called No Place I’d Rather Be. What this does is allow Lilo to be played from the discard pile if it’s there at the start of its user’s turn, coming into play exerted. This is essentially an ever-returning character who can perpetually quest or challenge as needed.
