Pokemon TCG Pocket: Best Moltres Deck Build

Pokemon TCG Pocket: Best Moltres Deck Build

In Pokemon TCG Pocket, players are able to rip open digital booster packs with a swipe of their finger and build a collection of digital cards that expands with each new set released. One of the most fun and rewarding parts of building your collection is without a doubt the ability to highlight ace cards regarding your favorite or most powerful Pokemon pulls, and then build a deck around them to take on AI matches or other players.

With a simplified set of rules and gameplay in comparison to the physical Pokemon TCG, TCG Pocket utilizes decks crafted out of just 20 cards. For this reason, knowing the exact cards that you can include can sometimes be quite tricky. Moltres is one of the best Fire Type picks to build a deck around as of Genetic Apex, with a powerful ability and some great Trainer/Item cards that can make all of the difference in matchups. Everything you need to know about the best Moltres deck build in Pokemon TCG Pocket, including a complete card list to help you craft your deck has been included in the guide below.

Best Moltres Deck Build in Pokemon TCG Pocket

moltres ex2

In Pokemon TCG Pocket, few Fire Type decks can compare to Charizard ex – but Moltres is the best contender and a suitable alternative to build and try first whilst you collect cards to build a Charizard deck for yourself. Moltres’ biggest threat is not necessarily a bulk of HP or insane damage output, but rather its unique ability that enables it to attach extra Fire Energy to your benched Pokemon with each turn. Through coin flip, players will be able to attach between 0-3 Energies to their benched Pokemon from the very first turn, as this Inferno Dance ability only required Moltres to have a single Fire Energy attached.

The best choice of secondary Pokemon to run alongside the ace Pokemon, Moltres, tends to be Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. Centiskorch has a solid 130 HP and a powerful 130 damage per-turn move with Fire Blast, which requires four Energies to be attached in order to use. Luckily, Moltres’ Inferno Dance ability has the chance to get Centiskorch into play early with the addition of extra Fire Energies. On top of this, Centiskorch, while it doesn’t have the same HP to keep it alive or as high of damage output as Charizard ex, Centiskorch can get into play much quicker not only from Moltres but also from only being a 2-stage evolution setup rather than a 3-stage.

The remainder of the deck is filled with standard Trainers/item/Supporter cards, with picks such as X Speed supporting the pivot from Moltres to Centiskorch once it’s been powered up on your bench, Potion for keeping these Pokemon in play when needed, Giovanni to push for a single turn knockout on many opponents (including ex) by pushing Centiskorch’s damage from 130 to 140, Sabrina to disrupt your opponent, and Poke Ball and Professor’s Research to help you get the right cards in your hand, and into play.
