A Genshin Impact leak has revealed substantial information about Snezhnaya, the next major region set to arrive in the game. Genshin Impact‘s main continent, Teyvat, consists of seven nations, each associated with a symbolic element and an Archon typically serving as its protector.

So far, developer HoYoverse has introduced six of the seven major regions, with Version 5.0’s Natlan being the most recent addition. Even though the Pyro nation was introduced just a few months ago, new leaks seem to provide more details about the Cryo region.

After months of speculation, a new post on the Genshin Impact Leaks subreddit has revealed an intriguing screenshot that might depict Snezhnaya’s location and size. The leak reportedly comes from the Version 5.3 beta, where HoYoverse replaced the placeholder terrain north of Genshin Impact‘s Natlan region. HoYoverse has previously shown a pattern of making similar terrain adjustments in preparation for the launch of new major updates or regions. According to the post, Snezhnaya will occupy a sizable portion of the terrain north of Natlan and west of Fontaine.



Genshin Impact: Snezhnaya’s Archon and Story Expectations

While it is still impossible to determine the exact size of Snezhnaya’s playable terrain, many fans agree that the leaked location is likely accurate. A significant difference between the leaked version and the final Snezhnaya is likely to be that the majority of the region will be covered in snow. This aligns with the fact that Snezhnaya is home to Genshin Impact‘s Cryo Archon Tsaritsa, who is expected to be one of the main villains in the game.

Genshin Impact‘s storyline has already established that Tsaritsa is the leader of the Fatui, one of the main antagonist factions. Fans speculate that, unlike previous Genshin Impact Archon Quests where players ally with the Archon of the region, they will likely face Tsaritsa as an adversary. A similar scenario unfolded in Inazuma, where players initially opposed its leader, the formidable Electro Archon Raiden Shogun.


Another reason Snezhnaya is one of the most anticipated regions is the possibility of encountering the remaining Harbingers, who are high-ranking officers within the Fatui organization. For many players, the introduction of a Harbinger in Genshin Impact is almost as exciting as the reveal of a new Archon.
