Every Disney Princess Still Missing From Disney Dreamlight Valley

Every Disney Princess Still Missing From Disney Dreamlight Valley

As one of the most profitable parts of the Disney brand, it’s surprising that several Disney Princesses are still missing from Disney Dreamlight Valley. While the game has covered over half of these characters, Disney Dreamlight Valley is still missing a few notable entries.

It should be noted that this list covers official Disney princesses. This means that Disney heroines or female main characters that don’t have the title “Princess” are exempt from this list. Additionally, despite holding royal titles, Princess Eilonwy from The Black Cauldron and Kida from Atlantis: The Lost Empire , do not count as Disney does not have them on its official princess roster.

Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Storybook Vale Expansion Controversy Explained

On its release day, Disney Dreamlight Valley’s first chapter of its Storybook Vale DLC, Welcome to the Vale, is already off to a bumpy start.

Princesses and Heroines in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Seven of the official princesses on Disney’s list have made their way onto Disney Dreamlight Valley’s character roster. These princesses are Moana, Mulan, Belle from Beauty and the Beast, Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Tiana from The Princess and the Frog, Rapunzel from Tangled, and Merida from Brave.

Disney Dreamlight Valley also features several heroines that aren’t considered official Disney princesses. Despite holding titles, Anna and Elsa from Frozen are not officially considered core Disney princesses. This is because the Frozen franchise has surpassed the popularity of the Disney princesses as a brand IP, and including them in the roster would make them outshine their fellow royalty. However, they were included in the official Disney princess scene in Ralph Breaks the Internet, giving them honorary status.

Despite holding the title of princess, Vanellope from Wreck It Ralph is not an official Disney princess either. This is likely because she is a side character in her films rather than the protagonist. Additionally, her royal status is a plot twist only revealed near the end of the first film, and she often distances herself from the title.

Mirabel from Encanto is anotherDisney Dreamlight Valley heroine that does not hold official Disney princess status. Her lack of a royal title should automatically make her exempt from the list; however Mulan does not hold royal status despite being considered an official Disney princess. Encanto raked in a massive profit during its theatrical run, which could have justified Mirabel’s addition as a princess. However, it seems that Disney has tightened up which heroines are allowed on the roster since it was established as a brand IP, denying some key figures the chance to join the list.

Missing Princesses from Disney Dreamlight Valley

There are currently thirteen official Disney princesses. With seven of the princesses on its character roster, Disney Dreamlight Valley has at least six more princesses it needs to add to the game.

Snow White

Despite being the first Disney princess and the star of the first American animated feature film ever, Snow White has yet to be added to Disney Dreamlight Valley. The age of the character may be the reasoning behind the character’s exclusion. Snow White is seen as an old school princess compared to the princesses on Disney Dreamlight Valley’s roster, which tend to be from the Disney Renaissance and onward. However, with the new live action Snow White slated to release in 2025, there is a chance that this iconic Disney princess could be added to promote the film.

Cinderella

Cinderella is the first Silver Age princess to be missing from Disney Dreamlight Valley’s character roster. Cinderella’s exclusion is shocking considering her iconic ties to Disneyland, like her castle, and that her Fairy Godmother is already in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Hopefully, Gameloft will reunite the characters soon.

Aurora

Aurora is the other Silver Age official Disney princess missing from Disney Dreamlight Valley. Sleeping Beauty castle is another popular icon in Disney history, making her absence feel odd. Maleficent is widely considered to be the standout character from Sleeping Beauty, which Disney Dreamlight Valley has clearly taken note of. Maleficent will be added in the second half of the Storybook Vale DLC, sometime in Summer 2025. Hopefully, Princess Aurora will follow in her footsteps shortly.

Disney Dreamlight Valley Should Be Watching an Upcoming Movie Very Closely

If Disney Dreamlight Valley adds more content from one upcoming Disney Animation Studios film, there’s no telling how far the game will go.

Jasmine

Princess Jasmine is the heroine and love interest of Aladdin. Their enemy and her royal vizier, Jafar, was added in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s A Rift in Time expansion pass. Players have been hoping that Jasmine and Aladdin would be added to the simulation game for quite some time. Genie may have granted their wish, as Disney Dreamlight Valley’s 2025 free content roadmap teases that they will be added in Early 2025. The teaser image depicts their iconic headgear, suggesting that both characters will be added to the game.

Pocahontas

Adding Pocahontas to Disney Dreamlight Valley may be a controversial move despite her title as an official Disney princess. The Pocahontas film is notoriously inaccurate and considered outright offensive by many. Because of this, it has declined in popularity since its release during the 90s Disney Renaissance. Nevertheless, adding Pocahontas to Disney Dreamlight Valley could lead to some fun new elements. Her raccoon friend Meeko would be a great premium companion. A leaf motif in the same style as the leaves shown in the Pocahontas song “Colors of the Wind” is already available in Disney Dreamlight Valley, proving that the film could at the very least inspire new furniture for the game.

Raya

Raya, from Raya and the Last Dragon, is the most recent Disney heroine to be made an official Disney princess. As the daughter of a chief, Raya holds the royal blood necessary to claim the title of official Disney princess. Released in 2021, Raya and the Last Dragon is fresh enough that Raya’s addition to Disney Dreamlight Valley would not feel forced. Raya’s sword is also available as a motif in Disney Dreamlight Valley, setting some precedent for the character being added to the game. Though he is much larger than other animal companions in Disney Dreamlight Valley, Raya’s pill bug, armadillo, pug-hybrid pet Tuk Tuk could be a fun companion for players. Shrinking him down would still retain his adorableness, whereas leaving him at his film-accurate size could lead to some hilarious hijinks.

It’s quite likely that all the official Disney princesses will be added to Disney Dreamlight Valley at some point. Until the other half of the princesses join their sisters, players can still spend time with other royalty in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
