A Destiny 2 Titan player manages to survive a direct hit from one of the deadliest mechanics in the game, a Cabal Drop Pod. Even after 10 years with the franchise, Destiny 2 players are still coming up with creative ways to engage with Bungie’s content, whether through interesting loadouts or discovering different ways to deal with common gameplay situations.
Naturally, the past month has been a good one for fashion-oriented players thanks to the launch of Destiny 2‘s Street Fighter collaboration, which brought new emotes and cosmetics, such as the Blanka mask, based on Capcom’s hugely popular fighting franchise, into the game. However, each new season and episode that is added to the game also brings about new gear, weapons, and major changes which certainly seem to have an impact on the Destiny 2 sandbox.

Recently, Destiny 2 received a major mid-season update which saw a huge boost to numerous subclasses within the game. As such, many players began testing out some of the more underused super abilities within the game, creating new loudouts and builds to see what works and what doesn’t. Destiny 2 Player Survives a Cabal Drop Pod
Posting on the Destiny 2 subReddit, a player named DoctorNotorious posts a short video of their Titan surviving a direct hit from a Cabal Drop Pod. A mechanic that has long since one-shotted many players thanks to their ability to surprisingly land on unaware players, Doctor Notorious seemingly timed a Destiny 2 Titan barricade class ability perfectly, and with some of the status buffs, like Devour, applied during the move, they were able to survive. The drop pod itself instantly destroyed the shield and removed half of their health in the process, but what should have been an automatic KO instead saw them walk away from the incident.
Naturally, the community was largely stunned by what they saw, many posting memes or referring to DoctorNotorious as “John Destiny” in reference to the John Wick movies. Some were impressed by the apparent build, with many speculating the player had at least 10 Resilience while using the Bastion barricade option with Echo of Starvation to proc Devour. Either way, the post itself will likely lead some to attempt something similar while playing through Destiny 2‘s Onslaught: Salvation game mode, where the Cabal and their Drop Pods can be frequently seen.
