Where To Get The Hermes Hat In Dragon Quest 3 Remake

Each class in Dragon Quest 3 Remake has different strengths and weaknesses to worry about in combat. The uniqueness of each class does make a party at its best when you have members of different classes, handling different roles in combat to support your allies or simply deal a lot of damage.

The gear pieces you choose to equip your party should also cater to what they are already good at, further their effectiveness in that role instead of trying to make every character a jack-of-all-trades. The Hermes Hat is a great gear piece that’s ideal for your squishier party members; here’s where to get it and who to best equip it on.

Where To Get The Hermes Hat In Dragon Quest 3 Remake

The Hermes Hat is found in one of the secret locations hidden around the world, with this one requires the boat to get. You will first need to progress the story until you get the Black Pepper and return it to the king to get the ship, then begin sailing southeast. Travel to the very southeastern corner of the southeastern continent, stopping by the Pirate’s Den to get the Red Orb.

After getting the Red Orb, sail the ship further southeast until you see some rocks coming out of the water which can be interacted with. Interacting with that will take you to the secret location, with the Hermes Hat being found in the pot along the bottom right corner of the small rock island.

Who Should Use The Hermes Hat In Dragon Quest 3 Remake

  • Defense – 28
  • Protection from Wind Spells.

Dragon Quest 3 Remake has a weakness system based on the elements of spells, and while the party doesn’t have weaknesses to protect, the elements of spells are very important to consider. All the wind spells in the game, especially the early ones such as Woosh and Swoosh, hit the entire party. Enemies or bosses with powerful wind spells can easily take out your spell casters no matter where they are in the Line-Up.

This makes it best to give the Hermes Hat to whoever has the lowest health in your party, with that person ideally in your final Line-Up slot either a Mage, Sage, or Priest. That character can easily get taken down with repetitive wind spells, especially when facing groups of enemies with wind spells such as Cumaulus or other variations of that enemy later on in the game.
