Fortnite returns with Chapter 6 Season 1 with its Hunters season, and the Battle Pass features a few original goodies among its titan collabs.
Epic Games has been playing around with the idea of bringing back the original Fortnite map, allowing players to re-do it using UEFN and it was even brought back for a month in 2023 during Fortnite Season OG. At last, Fortnite is getting a permanent OG game mode, and players are, of course, quite excited for its release.
When Can I Play Fortnite OG?
Even though Chapter 6 Season 1 launched on December 1, the OG game mode was not made available as soon as the new Battle Royale season went live. Each game mode is now viewed as its own separate thing, which is why they have their own season count and start/end dates.
Fortnite OG is scheduled to go live on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 9 AM ET / 6 AM PT / 2 PM GMT.
Is Fortnite OG a Permanent Game Mode?
When the OG game mode was announced, the community immedaitely started questioning if it’d be a permanent addition to Fortnite. Epic Games has addressed this matter via its Help Center and replied:
“OG Season will come back permanently to Fortnite on December 6, 2024!”
Fortnite OG will have its own Pass, which players can purchase or acquire through the Crew Pack subscription service, allowing them to unlock rewards like any other pass. It is set to end on January 31, 2025.
Currently, the OG game mode is titled “Fortnite OG – Chapter 1 Season 1″, and it is unknown if the season will change on a fairly regularly basis or if it’ll last an entire “OG Season”, meaning the last day of January.
