The Veilguard’s Crow Helmet Is Ruining Romance Scenes

The Veilguard's Crow Helmet Is Ruining Romance Scenes

Key Takeaways

  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard has a silly crow helmet that you can wear to make any serious scene more stupid, but it’s also ruining romances.
  • Twitter user Hattedhedgehod found that out the hard way earlier this week, as they forgot to hide the head before going in for a kiss with Harding.
  • It ended up with Harding having a giant beak pierce through her head, and the resulting romance scene ruined forever. Always make sure to hide your helmets folks.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard has a fairly large focus on relationships, including which one of your party members you’d like to smooch all over. BioWare has always made romance scenes a big part of Dragon Age and Mass Effect’s identity, and it’s very important to make sure your character is looking prim and proper before you lock lips with the character of your choice. Unfortunately, one particular helmet is causing problems.

Despite being a fairly serious RPG, Dragon Age: The Veilguard does like to have a little bit of fun sometimes, and that can be seen with a particular helm you can get from the Antivan Crow faction store. You may have already seen it, as it quickly made the rounds back when the game first launched, as Dragon Age: The Veilguard lets you don the head of a massive crow.

It can be fun to pop on and talk with other characters about very serious topics, all the while they’re probably desperately trying to ignore that Rook is now part bird, but it’s not so fun to have equipped when you want to start smooching. A Twitter user called Hattedhedgehog discovered that earlier this week, as they accidentally forgot to hide their crow helmet during a romance scene with Harding.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard has more than a little in common with God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Zero Dawn.

In the scene (which you can view above), we see Harding and Rook talking rather seriously, with Harding declaring that she wants to give Rook a big ol’ kiss. Unfortunately for Harding, who leans in to kiss Rook while the dramatic music starts getting louder in the background, she forgot to factor in the gigantic beak that is protruding from Rook’s face.

She doesn’t seem to be bothered though, as the beak begins to pierce through Harding’s face as she leans in – maybe the kiss from Rook is just that worth it. Of course, she comes out of the other side of the experience unscathed, though the moment was well and truly spoiled for Hattedhedgehog, all because they forgot to hide their helmet before the cutscene. Let this be a lesson to all you crow head wearers out there, and don’t make the same mistake if you’re looking forward to having a serious first kiss with your Dragon Age waifu.
