In survival horror games, like Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, carrying weight is an important mechanic that determines the amount of items you can carry. The default carry weight in Stalker 2 is set to 80 kg. If you exceed this limit, you’ll get over-encumbered by the weight of all the gear and supplies you’ve collected.
When over-encumbered, your movement speed will be reduced, your stamina will drain more rapidly, and the stamina regeneration rate in Stalker 2 will slow down. All of this will lead to no movement eventually, and you’ll have to throw some stuff out of your backpack — even if you don’t want to. To avoid this situation, you can increase your carry weight capacity in Stalker 2.

How To Increase Your Carry Weight in Stalker 2
There are a few different ways you can increase your carry weight limit in Stalker 2. These include upgrading your armor and gear, equipping artifacts and Stalker Suits, and using the Hercules Pills.
Equip Artifacts
The first thing you can do to increase the carrying capacity is to equip Artifacts in Stalker 2. There are five slots in your suit for holding Artifacts found near anomalies in the Zone. Some of these Artifacts, like Spring, Flytrap, Weird Water, and Stone Blood, provide bonuses to your carry weight limit.
Use Hercules Pills
A temporary way to boost your carry weight capacity is to use Hercules pills. Hercules is a strength-enhancing drug that lets you carry more weight for a longer time. As such, popping one Hercules pill increases your maximum capacity by +20 kg for 300 seconds (five minutes). Even though it’s quite rare, this consumable is perfect for when you need to carry extra loot during lengthy missions in the Zone.
Upgrade Gear To Reduce Its Weight
For a more permanent boost to your carry weight, you can upgrade your armor to add 10% carrying capacity. Though they’re expensive, these upgrades improve your carry weight, making it easier to explore the Zone without getting over-encumbered.
While upgrading armor for increased carry weight is beneficial, another effective early-game strategy is to reduce the weight of individual items that you have equipped. Many guns and armor pieces can be modified to become lighter, allowing you to carry more without exceeding your weight limit. These upgrades are also cheaper compared to upgrading your entire armor for the carry weight bonus.
