Fortnite: How to Beat Night Rose
Night Rose can be a tough boss fight in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 to those who don’t know her weakness, so drop from the battle bus and loot up!
Shogun X isn’t going to be an easy fight, but below, players can find all they need to beat Shogun X and claim the arsenal that he drops, consisting of a few Mythic weapons and an essential Medallion that will easily have players keep their Victory Crown.
Where to Find Shogun X (Roaming)
Once players load into Battle Royale and are awaiting their drop from the Battle Bus, players can head to the map and check for a black and white Oni Mask symbol that will be roaming the map. This icon usually starts in Nightshift Forest (Left/West), but that’s not a permanent spawn, as Shogun X will roam across the Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 map, so players will need to constantly check their map so they can be sure that Shogun X hasn’t teleported to another location. Shogun X in this roaming state has a lot of health and when his health reaches around 30%, he will teleport away, but he will leave behind an Enhanced Sentinel Pump Shotgun.
How to Beat Shogun X in Fortnite
Shogun X has a few various methods of attack that players need to look out for, as each of them can be brutal to players who are unfamiliar with the attack pattern of this Chapter 6 Season 1 boss. Shogun X is hostile from the moment he spots players, and his health pool is gigantic, so be sure to bring plenty of weapons and ammunition to fight him. Close-range fights are not a great idea, so try and use SMGs and Assault Rifles.
Shogun X’s first and most common attack is a charging volcano burst, noted by how he floats in the air with fire and ash surrounding him. When he’s doing this attack, he is vulnerable to damage, but players need to look to the floor to make sure they are not standing on a geyser that will burst with lava once Shogun X has finished charging.
Another of Shogun X’s common attacks is his explosive screaming masks that he will send out of his hand. Shogun X usually summons 3 of these, and they do have the ability to track and home in on players, so the best way to avoid them is by dodging to the left or right so that they can’t do a 180 and turn around. It’s best to avoid these flaming skulls and start shooting Shogun X after he has thrown them out, as getting hit by all 3 is a bad idea.
The last of Shogun X’s attacks is his charging sword slash, which he will only do when players are within a close vicinity of him. This attack is noted by his stance, where Shogun X’s hand readies on his blade and he squats in a battle-ready stance. To avoid this attack, all players need to do is dodge to the side, and the easiest way to do that is by entering into a tactical sprint, and then slide and jump to avoid it entirely.

After defeating the roaming version of Shogun X, the boss will teleport away and drop the Enhanced Sentinel Pump Shotgun. This is a Mythic variant of the Sentinel Pump Shotgun, and it’s certainly one to have in the inventory for a few reasons. Firstly, is its unique ability, in which players who are downed or eliminated will emit a revealing burst that will mark nearby enemies in the vicinity. Outside of this unique ability, the Enhanced Sentinel Pump Shotgun benefits from its large ammo capacity and high damage for headshots, but it also suffers from a slow rate of fire thanks to the fact it’s a Pump Shotgun.
Where to Find Shogun X (Final Spawn)
After Shogun X has been defeated in his roaming state, he will disappear, and later reappear when it’s the 4th Storm Circle. Shogun X will spawn on a floating island, much like Chapter 5’s loot island. To access Shogun X’s island, players will need to use the Air Sprite located just under the island to float up top. Once players are on the floating island, players can make Shogun X aggressive by approaching him or shooting him.
Shogun X has the exact same attacks as his first phase when he is roaming the map, but the only difference here is how Shogun X fights on a floating island where falling or being pushed off could spell the player’s doom. Players should utilize the structures and the portal as cover from Shogun X’s attacks and chip away at his health with plenty of ammo. When he is defeated, he drops the following items:
- Shogun X Medallion
- Shogun X’s Typhoon Blade
- Shogun X’s Fire Oni Mask
Shogun X Medallion Stats
Gain infinite stamina. While sprinting, cloak into the void.
Once Shogun X has been defeated, players have access to his Medallion. The Shogun X Medallion is easily one of the best Medallions ever featured in Fortnite since it provides players who wield it with infinite stamina so that they can tactical sprint endlessly. Even better is how the Shogun X Medallion will cloak players in the void, which essentially means they have permanent invisibility as long as they are sprinting. Being able to go in and out of invisibility just by running really helps players escape from tough fights or stay obscured so enemy players cannot see the next attack.

Shogun X’s Mythic Typhoon Blade is certainly a fun time for whoever wields it. The blade has a combo that players can use with their default attack of Left-Click/RT/R2, and each hit will deal 30 damage. It’s a flurry of fast attacks that provides 30 damage on each hit, until the 5th hit, which will deal 50 damage. While there is durability to the Shogun X’s Mythic Typhoon Blade, it’s not going to affect most players, as it’s such a large durability that only drains when attacking enemies, structures, or sprinting. It’s a great utility weapon to move around faster and avoid fall damage, and also damage opponents with fast slashes. Here’s how to use the Typhoon Blade:
- Cyclone Slash: Right-Click/LT/L2
- Attack: Left-Click/RT/R2
- (In Air) Falling Strike: Left-Click/RT/R2
- (While Sprinting) Wind Leap: Space/A/X
- (In Air) Air Dash: Space/A/X

The Shogun X’s Fire Oni Mask is a unique and Mythic variant of the Fire Oni Mask that allows players to blast out fiery and exploding screaming masks that track and seek out players. While the homing on players isn’t the best, having 2 ammo charges of a total of 16 means players can confidently do 100 damage with every mask that hits a player. Being able to quickly fire the mask and then switch to a weapon makes for overwhelming rockets that will definitely cause opponents to return to the lobby.
