Dynamax Bulbasaur Max Battle Guide (Max Monday)

Dynamax Bulbasaur Max Battle Guide (Max Monday)

With the arrival of Pokemon GO’s Max Out Season, the introduction of Dynamax & Gigantamax Pokemon and Power Spots and Max Battles has added a new element of gameplay for Trainers to enjoy. These Max Battles feature Dynamax Bosses, similar to Raid Bosses, which the player can take on in battle and potentially even capture to add to their collection. These Max Battles take place at in-game objectives on your Pokemon GO map, known as Power Spots.

During the Max Out Season, an event known as Max Mondays has been recurring. Max Mondays are a short 1-hour period in which all nearby Power Spots will be taken over by a certain Max Battle Boss, enabling players to farm encounters and captures with this one particular monster to gain some useful XP and resources or hunt for one with the best-battling potential.

On November 2, 2024, Squirtle will be taking over during Max Monday, so Trainers can benefit from preparing in advance. Everything players need to get set for this event has been included below, including a breakdown of Squirtle’s core weaknesses and resistances and the best Pokemon to bring with you to counter the Kantonian starter.

In Pokemon GO, the Squirtle Max Monday event occurs on November 2, 2024, and will run between 6 PM and 7 PM local time. During this timeframe, all nearby Power Spots across the map in your game will become occupied with Squirtle Bosses, meaning Trainers have the best possible chance to go up against this Water Type and capture it by repetition.

Squirtle Weaknesses & Resistances

In Pokemon GO, Squirtle is a pure Water Type, meaning its weaknesses and resistances are rather straightforward. Squirtle is resistance to Ice, Steel, Water, and Fire Types, but is weak to Grass and Electric Types – so Trainers should aim to utilize monsters with these attributes when going up against Dynamax Squirtle.

Due to the
Weather Boost mechanic
, Squirtle receives increased power during Rainy weather. Trainers may want to keep this in mind and potentially avoid battles in such locations.

Dynamax Squirtles Counters

In Pokemon GO’s Max Battles, players will be limited to only using other Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokemon, which restricts the monsters you can bring with you for this event. However, there are still a few solid contenders to consider when it comes to taking Squirtle down with the most ease.

  • Dynamax Bulbasaur / Dynamax Ivysaur / Dynamax Venusaur are arguably the best potential choices to bring with you, as their Grass attribute will deal super effective damage against Squirtle.
  • Dynamax Grookey / Dynamax Thwackey / Dynamax Rillaboom are right up there with the Bulbasaur line, able to deal super effective damage due to their Grass Typing.
  • Dynamax Toxtricity is another powerful choice that can take Squirtle down with ease, thanks to the Electric Typing.
  • In the case that you do not have access to the Pokemon above, other secondary or final forms of monsters that do not share elements with Squirtle’s resistances can be suitable for withstanding attacks and, therefore, outlasting and defeating Dynamax Squirtle – Dynamax Haunter/Dynamax Gengar, Dynamax Dubwool, and Dynamax Greedent are all decent choices when your options are limited.
