The Prismatic subclass for hunters is extremely versatile, offering so many unique opportunities for players to tailor their build to the exact piece of content they are tackling. It’s this broad scope of possibilities that makes many players struggle to decide exactly how they want to build their hunter.

Destiny 2: Prismatic Titan Build Guide
This Prismatic Titan build in Destiny 2 combines Strand, Arc, and Solar to create a nigh-invincible Guardian with plenty of AOE damage.
The following guide explores a build that will thrive in almost any area of the game, focusing on ad-clear through the matching of two specific exotics in tandem with the prismatic subclass. While this build will be most comfortable in low-end seasonal PvE content, with a few tweaks it’ll work in raids, Grandmaster Nightfalls, and any other PvE content a player could want to complete.
Destiny 2: Prismatic Hunter Aspects, Fragments, And Abilities
Prismatic Hunter Class Setup |
|
---|---|
Aspect |
Description |
Defeat targets with abilities, elemental debuff damage, or Solar weapons to charge up an improvised Solar explosive. Activate grenade ability: Throw a Solar explosive that can be shot mid-air to cause an ignition. |
|
Dodging slows nearby targets. Slowing targets briefly increases your class ability regeneration. |
|
Fragments |

Facet of Dominance |
Your Void grenades weaken targets, and your Arc grenades jolt targets. |

Facet of Dawn |
Powered melee hits against targets make you radiant. Powered melee final blows make you and nearby allies radiant. |
Facet of Purpose |
Picking up an Orb of Power grants either Amplified, Restoration, Frost Armor, Woven Mail, or Overshield based on the damage type of your equipped super. |
Facet of Protection |
While surrounded by combatants, you are more resistant to incoming damage. While transcendent, the effect is increased. |
Abilities |
Description |
Summon two Stasis kamas, Silence and Squall, that you throw one after the other. Silence: Creates a flash-freeze blast that freezes and damages targets. Squall: Creates a Stasis storm that slows and damages targets caught inside. |
|
Toss a Stasis shuriken at targets to damage and slow them. Provides multiple charges. |
|
Weave a grappling hook, and quickly pull yourself forward. Grappling to a Tangle immediately recharges your grenade energy. During and shortly after grappling, your melee deals area damage and unravels targets. |
There is some level of interchangeability to the Aspects and Fragments in this build, however during Episode Revenant, running stasis-focused builds is both the norm and incredibly powerful, being empowered by the seasonal artifact. There is great synergy with running Winter’s Shroud with both Silence and Squall and Withering Blade, consistently refunding class ability energy while slowing and freezing enemies, which in turn can be used to stun Overload and Unstoppable Champions in higher-end PvE content.
The Grapple grenade is less important of a choice as the exotic armor that will be discussed in a moment replaces it with a different ability. The main reason for choosing the Grapple grenade over any others is that it has the lowest default cooldown, meaning that before factoring armor stats in, it will enable the main part of this build more frequently than any other grenade option.
Gunpowder Gamble offers another sudden boost of power every so often with a huge grenade charge that spreads scorch throughout a room. This can be replaced by Stylish Executioner if a player wants. However, they will then need to remove one of the Fragment options outlined earlier. Invisibility can be a fantastic tool in endgame PvE content, however, a purely Void Hunter build may be better suited to utilizing the buff, especially with Omnioculus or Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk.

Destiny 2: Prismatic Warlock Build Guide
Here’s how Warlock mains can build the ideal Prismatic subclass in Destiny 2’s The Final Shape expansion.
Best Exotic Armor Choice
The Exotic armor of choice for this build is the Mothkeeper’s Wraps exotic gauntlets. These gauntlets replace the grenade ability with a unique grenade that releases moths similar to those used by the Lucent Hive. If a moth reaches an ally, it grants them a Void over shield, if it reaches an enemy, it detonates in a blinding Arc explosion. Not only does this offer both utility and survivability, but it also has surprisingly good damage for ad-clear. Arc blind is also directly boosted by the seasonal artifact, increasing the damage dealt by Arc weapons to blinded targets.
Best Weapon Choices
The final piece to this build is the Ex Diris exotic grenade launcher. This grenade launcher has solid damage output, constantly self-reloading, and also spawns the same moths that the Mothkeeper’s Wraps do, as well as blinding enemies after a few shots. Not only does this directly work with the build setup so far, but also combines perfectly with the seasonal artifact, allowing for the stunning of Overload Champions thanks to Ex Diris being a grenade launcher.
The other weapons in the loadout are up to the player’s choice, depending on the activity, however for solid synergy the Bitter/Sweet legendary heavy grenade launcher. With the roll Envious Arsenal and Bait and Switch, this grenade launcher does very good damage and synergizes with the build and the seasonal artifact thanks to its Arc elemental damage type. For primary weapons, a Stasis weapon with Rimestealer and Headstone is a good option as it will add to the Stasis synergy setup within the build earlier.
This build is a fun way to deal with large groups of ads while maintaining solid boss damage potential, survivability, and all-around versatility for just about any content in the game.
