Every party member in Metaphor: ReFantazio specializes in a specific stat, with the protagonist growing in all stats equally but the player deciding additional stat points to really decide on his build. Overall, every stat is important, but strength and magic are the most important when it comes to dealing damage.
Almost every damage-dealing attack scales based on one of these stats, so it’s important to know what Archetypes to put on which characters to make sure they are dealing the most amount of damage. Here are the best archetypes for someone with a high Magic stat. This list will also not include Royal Archetypes, meaning every option listed below can be used by any party member.

Metaphor: ReFantazio – 5 Best Strength Archetype Lineages
There are 14 Archetypes lineages in Metaphor: ReFantazio; here are the best ones that are great for strength-focused characters.
5 Seeker Lineage
- Unlocked through More’s Bond.
- Archetypes: Seeker, Magic Seeker, Soul Hacker.
The Seeker is the first Archetype the protagonist awakens to, and if you’re pursuing a Magic build it’s a good option for a decent part of the game. These Archetypes offer good versatility including magic attacks, healing skills, buffs, and even a few physical attacks when needed.
The later skills for this lineage also restore MP whenever they are cast, greatly helping those with these Archetypes manage their MP while exploring some of the longer dungeons in the game. The Synthesis skills for this lineage are also very powerful early into the game, giving tier-three attacks even at low levels.
4 Mage Lineage
- Unlocked through Gallica’s Bond.
- Archetypes: Mage, Wizard, Elemental Master, Warlock.
The Mage lineage is an obvious choice, as it specializes in base elemental attacks such as Fire, Ice, and Electric. It’s a very useful Archetype early on since it covers multiple elemental affinities and offers a boost in Max MP and magic damage skills which are useful to be transferred to any Archetype on this list.

Bad Weather can make a trip into a dungeon much more difficult than usual in Metaphor: ReFantazio; here’s how to check and clear bad weather.
The Mage also is incredible on the protagonist as killing enemies in the overworld restores 1 MP for each enemy, which quickly adds up in the early levels. This lineage also has two tier-three options, both offering very powerful single-target skills but also branching the Lineage out to use Dark skills.
3 Healer Lineage
- Unlocked through Maria’s Bond.
- Archetypes: Healer, Cleric, Savior
The Healer is a necessity early on in the game as this lineage gets party-wide healing spells right off the bat and can also learn spells to cure status ailments. This lineage also learns Dekunda with the first Archetype, which is very helpful against late-game bosses that debuff the entire party at once.
Healer Lineage Archetypes also learn powerful light spells, which are especially useful against undead enemies which will occur heavily during the beginning and end of the game. Ren Patra cures all status ailments for all party members and is a necessary skill to have on at least two party members against endgame bosses that use just as many status ailments as they do physical attacks.
2 Masked Dancer Lineage
- Unlocked through Junah’s Bond.
- Archetypes: Masked Dancer and Persona Master.
The Masked Dancer is the most versatile Archetype in the game, as its equipped masks can give it access to just about any skill while still leaving its Skill Inheritance slots open for other options. This Archetype also gives a passive that restores MP every turn, which is useful at any point in the game as MP management is always a concern.

Metaphor: ReFantazio – 7 Best Dishes To Cook, Ranked
Your mouth will water and your stats will boost with these recipes.
Through Synthesis skills and a few from the Persona Master, this Archetype is able to inflict one-time weaknesses on enemies, setting up other party members to deal even more damage and forcing weaknesses on an enemy that normally would be more difficult to fight. While these skills are mostly seen as support options, they set up your party in ways few other Archetypes can.
1 Summoner Lineage
- Unlocked through Eupha’s Bond.
- Archetypes: Summoner and Devil Summoner
The Summoner Lineage is as strong as you’re willing to work for. To unlock new abilities, you’ll need to craft Vessels by finding Talismen throughout the game. While some are easier to find than others, every vessel is a new skill all Summoners can use, with some being incredibly powerful. By crafting all possible vessels, you’ll end up with the most skills you can get on a single Archetype, on top of the four options from Skill Inheritance.
Many of the later skills found on the Devil Summoner will also debuff your enemies on top of high magic damage, furthering the usefulness of each spell. While the MP cost of using this lineage is high, it’s worth any cost and can make just about any boss fight much weaker and easier to take down.
