You can save over $200 on a 360Hz OLED gaming monitor, if you’re quick

The MSI MPG 271QRX is one of the finest OLED gaming monitors around and thanks to this Black Friday deal it just became an absolute bargain to boot.

Sitting pretty as our choice for the best gaming monitor for esports/FPS, this MSI display packs in a 27-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 that ticks along at a super speedy 360Hz. Combined with the rapid response time of OLED this makes for a fantastic display for competitive gaming.

We were already full of praise for this panel in our MSI MPG 271QRX review, as its combination of features is ideal for most day-to-day computing tasks and gaming. With this massive discount, though, its appeal is even more universal.

Its 27-inch size and 1440p resolution nicely balances image sharpness and being a resolution for which most modern graphics cards can deliver high frame rates. What’s more, its choice of a Samsung QD-OLED panel makes for a slightly sharper image than on rival LG WOLED panels, such as we saw in our LG Ultragear 27GR95QE review. QD-OLED also delivers incredibly vivid colors making for dazzling HDR on this panel.

Meanwhile, the inherently fast response time of OLED – it’s 100x faster than a typical LCD – means you don’t experience any image ghosting in fast-paced gaming situations. Combine that with a 360Hz refresh rate and you have one hell of a competitive gaming panel.

Another advantage here is that while you can get OLED panels such as the Asus ROG Swift PG32UCDM that can hit as high as 480Hz, these displays can only hit that speed at 1080p (though it can also switch to 4K at 240Hz). If you play games such as Warzone or PUBG, where view distances are long and it’s important to be able to pick out small details at long range, the extra resolution of 1440p is a major advantage.

Outside of its amazing panel, this display is quite basic in terms of extra features. However, you still get a couple of USB ports, three main video inputs (DisplayPort and two HDMI), and the stand can rotate, pivot, tilt and have its height adjusted.

For those that don’t quite need 360Hz, the 240Hz 271QPX is also heavily discounted right now. In the US you can get that panel for $579.99 via this link – a 23% saving – while in the UK it’s down 27% to £549.99, and you can buy it via this link.
