What to Expect from Dead By Daylight’s Junji Ito Collab



Asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight recently announced a collaboration with legendary horror manga artist Junji Ito. While the collaboration will not bring any new Killers or Survivors to Dead by Daylight, it will instead include a host of new skins, primarily for Killers – fitting for Junji Ito’s signature terrifying style. The collaboration, which will become available on January 7, 2025, will feature two Legendary skins complete with their own audio and six Very Rare skins. How each skin will be unlocked in the game has not yet been revealed.

Two Legendary Skins For The Artist And The Spirit

The collaboration includes two Legendary skins based on some of Junji Ito’s most famous characters: Miss Fuchi, a skin for the killer The Artist, and Tomie, a skin for The Spirit. Both will feature unique audio lines, presumably based on the characters’ appearances in animated adaptations of Junji Ito’s works.

Miss Fuchi: A Cannibalistic, Terrifying “Model”

Fuchi appears in several of Junji Ito’s short stories. Her primary appearances are in “Rumors” and “Fashion Model,” while she also makes a cameo in “Voices in the Dark.” Despite her bizarre, zombie-like appearance, Fuchi is a successful professional model and sometimes an actress. However, Fuchi has a secret: she has razor-sharp teeth and loves nothing more than killing and eating humans. Fuchi is known for her signature cackling laugh, which will be recreated in Dead by Daylight.


Tomie: Junji Ito’s Most Famous Creation

One of the most frequently recurring characters in Junji Ito’s works is Tomie Kawakami, the titular protagonist of the manga anthology Tomie. Outwardly a beautiful and seductive girl, Tomie is in fact cruel and manipulative. She loves nothing more than herself and loves controlling her obsessed, love-struck victims and turning people she doesn’t like into copies of herself. Some material featuring Tomie gives her a second, creepier face hidden beneath her outwardly beautiful one; the Spirit skin in Dead by Daylight will reflect this two-faced nature.

Six Very Rare Skins Honor Other Classic Junji Ito Characters

In addition to the two Legendary skins, there will be six Very Rare skins. Three are for Killers and three for Survivors. Like the Legendary skins, the exact detail of how players can claim these new skins has not yet been revealed. The six Very Rare skins are:


  • Souichi Tsujii, another recurring Ito character who appears in several short stories. Souichi loves casting curses and plotting tricky schemes. His skin is for The Trickster, and will feature a new animation where Souichi spits nails at his victims.
  • The Hikizuri Siblings, a group of six siblings who appear in multiple short stories. Following the death of their parents, they live an odd life closely connected to the supernatural. Their skin is for The Twins.
  • The Beings Trapped in the Tunnel, a group of unlucky humans who are sucked into a tunnel and become trapped there for eternity in the short story The Story of the Mysterious Tunnel. This skin is for The Dredge.
  • Tsukiko Izumisawa, a girl who is one of the first to discover Tomie’s supernatural nature in the Tomie anthologies. Her skin is for Yui Kimura.
  • Terumi Fujino, a girl who kills herself and kicks off a bizarre string of supernatural suicides in the short story The Hanging Balloons. Her skin is for Yun-Jin Lee.
  • A ballet dancer puppet from the short story House of the Marionettes, in which a family is revealed to have a strange relationship with the puppets used in their traveling show. This skin is for Kate Denson, and notably seems to be a version of Kate herself dressed as one of these puppets rather than the actual puppets from the story.
