Luma Island: How To Repair All The Lamps
It’s still a long way to go with the town’s repairs, and next on the list is taking care of the lamp posts.
You will need to upgrade your tools to keep up the pace of the development of your farm. Getting animals is also a good way to get some additional hands working for you. However, you might find yourself out of cash considering the essentials you need to buy. Employing a few strategies will ensure the smooth running of your farm life.
Follow The Questlines
There are many activities for players to engage in, and you might end up overwhelmed not knowing what to do. We recommend you follow the questlines of your profession to get the hang of things.
The questlines consist of simple tasks like growing particular crops to make a specific recipe or going mining to collect materials. Instead of wandering aimlessly in the open world, you will learn everything you need and eventually be ready for other expeditions.
Use Animals For Help
Growing plants requires a lot of nurturing, and it will take up a lot of your free time, which you could have used in other ventures. So, we recommend you get some animals that will help you grow crops, which will let you take a couple of detours with more freedom.
The earliest ones you can get are Rabbits from the Farm Shop. You will also need a Hutch to keep them which you can build by purchasing its drawing. The Rabbits will help you pull out weeds, which tend to grow rapidly in your fields to hinder the growth of your plants.
Upgrade The Axe First
Wood is an important resource in Luma Island, and it is used a lot for making buildings and crafting essential items. You will be chopping a lot of trees, and it will take you a very long time if you are using your old copper axe.
To make this easier, you should head to town and get your Axe upgraded at the anvil as soon as you can.
Other than wood, we also recommend you
upgrade your Pickaxe
to help break rocks and ores faster to obtain minerals.
Catch Caterpillars For Bait
Bug-catching is another activity you will find yourself doing frequently, but there is one bug that you should try to catch when you see it. Caterpillars can be used as baits while fishing, and if you select the Fishing Profession, you will need these insects more.
Fishing earns you a great amount of money while your crops are growing. If you want to make the most profit, catching Caterpillar will save you some cash, as you don’t have to buy bait from the Fisherman’s Shop.
Place Drawings Nearby
A good way to save time and effort is to make the layout of your farm more convenient. You can do that by placing the drawings for buildings closer to one another. This will let you quickly access them instead of running around the farm.
Placing buildings closer is also helpful in crafting items faster, as some require prep materials processed by other buildings. You can quickly check what you need, and by preparing it, you can deliver it faster when it’s needed.
Craft Many Torches Before You Go Mining
Near your farmhouse, you will spot a ladder that leads to the farm cave. It’s very dark in there, and to navigate you will need as many Farm Torches as you can get. They light up a small area inside the cave when you place them, so you won’t be able to explore much with a single torch.
Ideally, we recommend you carry at least five torches to make significant progress in your mining ventures. You will obtain plenty of useful minerals in the mines including Copper which you need to build some essential buildings.
Choose An Easier Profession
When you start Luma Island, you will have the option of choosing your profession. You will also spot some stars below each profession marking their difficulty. We recommend saving the harder ones for the last, as they might be harder to handle as a beginner.
For a beginner, we recommend you pick either Cook or Brewer as they are quite basic, and don’t require you to go out of your way in dangerous locations against tough enemies much. You can always buy more professions later during the game, as you get more skilled at combat.
Treasure Hunt Often
You will often find a Treasure Chest or two while you are exploring Luma Island. They are located almost everywhere including the town and farm areas. We also recommend you visit the beach daily, as you might often find chests washed up on the shore.
Chest gives you some valuables like Tool Tokens needed to upgrade tools. If you open rare Treasure Chests, you can obtain items that you can sell at the shop to make money.
