The Most Valuable EX Sandstorm Cards In Pokemon TCG

EX Sandstorm is an interesting set from the Pokemon TCG since there are multiple different printings of the same cards depending on when you got your hands on a set. If you got your hands on a box in 2004, you’ll find regular cards with their usual holographic foiling. Go back one year earlier, and you’ll notice that the most valuable cards were all printed with E-Reader barcodes.

This set collected even more Pokemon from the third generation while also giving some of them Poke Powers that work off each other. The most valuable cards in this set include some fan favorites that find themselves on every Hoenn team.

10 Sableye $39.43

Deep In The Crystal Mines

The holographic Sableye found in Ex Sandstorm has a very fitting card art for one of the trickiest Pokemon of the Hoenn region. The holographic bubbles that surround the cavern walls give the design the appearance that it is surrounded by glowing gems.

This card also has a menacing Move called Supernatural. For one Energy, you not only get hand knowledge, but you can also potentially use a second Supporter effect by copying any of the Supporters you find in your opponent’s hand.

9 Jolteon $39.97

Lighting Waiting To Strike

This Jolteon looks as if it were painted with watercolors. The holographic foiling also gives you the illusion that it is staring into the night sky. While never the most powerful of the Eeveelutions, it has always had a cool and spiky design.

This Jolteon offers two Moves for you to use. Double Kick is a coin flip Move that does 20 damage for each heads. Meanwhile, Lightning Strike has the potential to do up to 70 damage if you’re willing to discard all of Jolteon’s Electric Energy.

8 Flareon $40.01

Turning Up The Heat

Flareon’s tail is drawn to resemble a burning flame in this rare Flareon printing. One of the fluffiest Eeveelutions, this one might just be a bit too hot to handle. It is also one of the rarer Flareon cards in the Pokemon TCG.

It can burn your opponent’s Pokemon by using Super Singe, while Flamethrower finishes the job in terms of damage. It’s always a tough choice deciding what to Evolve your Eevee into, but if you had to choose this one, you’re in the right hands.

7 Aggron Ex $43.25

A Big Bruiser

Aggron has fantastic printing in the EX Sandstorm set. Not only does it have a rocky holographic appearance, but the card bubbles also extend towards the border and the E-Reader barcode. This gives it a unique look which is hard to find among other similar cards.

This is also an aggressive Aggron with Rend doing more damage if your opponent’s Pokemon already has damage counters on it. Meanwhile, Metal Surge hits the Active Pokemon for 50 damage and splashes the Bench with 20 damage to every one of your opponent’s Pokemon.

6 Kabutops Ex $46.63

Multiplying Damage And Healing Abilities

Fossil Pokemon are always difficult to get out, but if there’s one copy you want to dig up, it’s Kabutops ex. Hydrocutter lets you deal up to 120 damage, which could be devastating when this card was in its prime.

Meanwhile, Spiral Drain lets you deal 70 damage to your opponent while also healing itself for 20. This is one of the most valuable Kabutops cards for its holographic foiling and special E-Reader barcode. If you have it, leave it in your binder, since this fossil is worth preserving.

5 Wailord Ex $56.36

The Perfect Surf Buddy

Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire made Wailmer and Wailord the go-to Pokemon to have on your team using Surf. So it’s no surprise that the card would become valuable as well. However, this is one card you don’t want to take anywhere near the water.

This is a Pokemon with some of the highest HP of the time at 200. It can swap itself out using Super Deep Dive to make up for its hefty Retreat Cost of five. Meanwhile, Dwindling Wave does 100 damage while Wailord ex is at full health.

Gardevoir is one of the most popular Pokemon of all time. If you want to collect every Gardevoir card, you’ll eventually come across the one from EX Sandstorm. This one uses its psychic powers to deal damage depending on the board state.

Feedback places damage counters up to the number of cards your opponent has in their hand. Meanwhile, Psystorm does damage according to all the Energy currently in play. This kind of card is great for making sure your opponent stays in line.

3 Typhlosion Ex $73.39

A Relic From The Era Of Double Battling

Rumors aside, Typhlosion is a really chill Pokemon. Though its card art in EX Sandstorm makes it look pretty menacing. With a magma-red background and holographic foiling, this is one valuable Typhlosion to have a copy of in your collection.

Ring of Fire does a good job of dealing damage, applying status effects, and locking your opponent’s Defending Pokemon in place. This card also features text that references an old-school method of battling which involves players having two Defending Pokemon instead of just one.

2 Aerodactyl Ex $76.50

Back To The Stone Age

Aerodactyl ex almost looks like it is flying through an underground tunnel. With dark brown swirls and a shadowy presence, this is one card that will fit perfectly with your other rare Fossil Pokemon.

Tools are too advanced for Aerodactyl, so naturally, when this card comes out, it’s back to the Stone Age for your opponent. Aerodactyl’s Poke Body, Primal Lock, shuts down and discards all of your opponent’s Pokemon Tools. With Supersonic dealing ten damage while causing Confusion, and Wing Attack dealing moderate damage, it looks like the dinosaurs are back in town.

Pikachu is the greatest Pokemon ever made, and the face of the franchise from the anime to the games. It’s not often that its Evolution gets some love, but if it’s your favorite, then you’ll be happy to know that the most valuable card in this set is a Raichu.

Raichu ex has stunning holographic foiling integrated into its yellow card art. It also features Raichu charging up for an attack as the electricity surges from its cheeks and forms an electric sphere around it. This Raichu can unleash a Dazzling Blast to Confuse your opponent’s Pokemon or even deal massive damage with Mega Thunderbolt.
