The Best Perk Augments In Black Ops 6 Zombies

The Best Perk Augments In Black Ops 6 Zombies

Augments are a new system in Black Ops 6 that allows you to infuse unique buffs into your Perk-A-Colas, weapon ammo types, and even field upgrades. Creating the ultimate loadout will require dozens of hours of grinding, but the rewards are absolutely worth it. These augments can fundamentally change the difficulty of Zombies depending on which ones you use.

We compare Call of Duty’s 2024 entry, Black Ops 6, with the previous title in the Black Ops subseries, Cold War. Which one is the best?

Of course, you’ll want to bring the best augments possible when pushing for high rounds or easter egg attempts. Today, we’ll be looking at the ten best perk augments you can use in BO6 Zombies, ranging from the popular Tribologist to less appreciated options like Electric Cherry and Stalker.

10 Stalker – Stamin-Up

Black Ops 6 Stalker Augment

Type

Major

Effect

Walk faster while aiming.

Perk

Stamin-Up

When you aren’t sprinting past hordes of zombies to group them together, you’re usually mowing down the horde with your chosen weapon. You lose a significant amount of movement speed while ADS, which can be extremely dangerous in higher rounds or while the Rampage Inducer is active.

That’s where Stalker comes in. This augment for Stamin-Up makes your strafe speed significantly faster, almost on par with your standard strafe speed. If you pair this with an Infiltrator Stock on your weapon, your strafe speed will match your sprint speed for nearly all weapons, making it trivial to outmaneuver zombies on higher rounds.

Black Ops 6 Hot Foot Augment

Type

Minor

Effect

Gain a speed boost after your equipment kills a enemy.

Perk

Stamin-Up

Yet another augment for Stamin-Up, Hot Foot gives you a substantial movement speed boost for three seconds after you land a kill with any piece of equipment—including lethals, tacticals, and field upgrades. And when we say substantial, we mean roughly double your movement speed. Sprinting becomes faster than tactical sprint, and tactical sprinting gives you superhuman speed.

While this augment is something you need to actively trigger, the movement speed increase is invaluable in higher rounds where distance between you and the zombies is paramount. You can run a Combat Axe, Impact Grenades, or even the Kasamir to trigger this augment with ease. Throw it, get a kill, and run for the hills.

8 Reactive Armor – Jugger-Nog

Black Ops 6 Reactive Armor Augment

Type

Major

Effect

When an armor plate breaks, nearby normal enemies are stunned for a short time.

Perk

Jugger-Nog

If you’ve played previous iterations of Zombies, Reactive Armor is basically Widow’s Wine. Whenever one of your armor plates break, you’ll release a concussive explosion that stuns zombies within melee distance. Zombies that are even a couple of meters away won’t be affected, and the explosion can’t stun Elite zombies.

Even with those drawbacks, this is still a free crowd control tool that will passively activate when you’re in trouble. There’s no enemy cap or any cooldowns either; if an armor plate breaks for any reason, the perk will activate. Probiotic is arguably better if you tend to corral zombies before mowing them down in higher rounds, but if you’re a more casual player who hates juggling dozens of zombies, Reactive Armor will frequently save your skin.

7 Classic Formula – Speed Cola

Black Ops 6 Classic Formula Augment

Type

Major

Effect

Reload speed is even faster.

Perk

Speed Cola

There’s not much to analyze here. While this augment is equipped, Speed Cola reduces most reload animations to just under a second. Virtually every weapon you own can now be safely reloaded in the middle of a horde, which is downright mandatory on higher rounds where zombies become absurdly fast. Pair this with explosive weapons or snipers to maximize your killing potential.

6 Electric Cherry – Elemental Pop

Black Ops 6 Electric Cherry Augment

Type

Major

Effect

Reloading creates an electric discharge that damages and stuns nearby normal enemies.

The more empty the magazine, the stronger the damage.

Perk

Elemental Pop

Similar to Reactive Armor, Electric Cherry is an S-tier augment for crowd control in higher rounds. Whenever you reload your weapon, you’ll release an electric shockwave that stuns all normal zombies, regardless of how many rounds you reload. This explosion also deals damage to affected targets, and that damage output is affected by how low your magazine was before reloading.

The main reason to use Electric Cherry is for the AoE stun. You can effectively stun an entire group of zombies at will by pressing the reload button, preventing them from moving for roughly two seconds. You can stack this with Reactive Armor for a second source of CC, making it incredibly difficult to get swarmed.

5 Dead First – Deadshot Daiquiri

Black Ops 6 Dead First Augment

Type

Major

Effect

Deal double critical damage if an enemy is at full health.

Perk

Deadshot Daiquiri

Dead First is downright mandatory if you plan on getting past Round 40. This augment doubles your critical damage if the target is at full HP. This applies to all enemies, including Special and Elite zombies. A single instance of double damage might not sound significant, but when you consider powerful single-shot weapons like snipers, this augment lets your weapons one-tap zombies for significantly longer than usual.

Pair Dead First with a Pack-A-Punched sniper rifle. You can one tap Manglers and Abominations with a single headshot.

Even if you don’t plan on using a sniper, you can still get some use out of this augment with automatic weapons. You’ll typically be aiming for the head regardless, so the bonus damage from this augment will still come in handy. You’ll one tap zombies for much longer, and the extra damage in later rounds can prove invaluable for ammo conservation.

4 Dying Wish – Quick Revive

Black Ops 6 Dying Wish Augment

Type

Major

Effect

On lethal damage, become immune to all damage for 2 seconds and keep 1 HP.

Consumes Quick Revive on use. Can only trigger 3 times per match.

Perk

Quick Revive

Dying Wish is effectively a cheat death augment, allowing you to survive lethal damage up to three times per match. Whenever you would go down, you’ll instead lose Quick Revive and temporarily become immune to damage. You’ll need to purchase Quick Revive gain to benefit from Dying Wish, but you can only trigger this augment three times per match. Still, that’s invaluable for pushing high rounds or completing complex easter eggs.

3 Hardened Plates – Jugger-Nog

Black Ops 6 Hardened Plates Augment

Type

Minor

Effect

Armor plates have more damage mitigation.

Perk

Jugger-Nog

The description of Hardened Plates is somewhat confusing, especially when you compare it to Durable Plates. In essence, all this augment does is redirect nearly all incoming damage to your armor. You’ll still take HP damage, but it’ll be significantly less than without this augment, roughly half as much.

This does mean that your armor decays slightly faster than normal, but you can now comfortably survive consecutive melee attacks without worrying about going down. So long as you have armor, it’s virtually impossible to go down. Just be sure to keep your armor stockpile topped up on later rounds to keep this augment in effect.

2 PhD Slider – PhD Flopper

Black Ops 6 PhD Slider Augment

Type

Major

Effect

Sliding into enemies triggers explosions.

Perk

PhD Flopper

PhD Slider is back as an augment in this year’s Call of Duty. While active, you’ll spawn a trail of purple flames behind you whenever you slide. If you make contact with any zombie while sliding, normal to Elite, they’ll violently explode. Normal zombies are ragdolled and either killed outright or turned into crawlers. Special and Elite zombies are staggered instead.

This is arguably better than Dr. Ram for a few reasons:

  1. You can hit multiple enemies with PhD Slider. Dr. Ram only hits one target at a time.
  2. Dr. Ram only ragdolls enemies. PhD Slider can outright kill zombies for you.
  3. Tactical sprint has a short cooldown. Sliding does not.

Bottom line: PhD Slider is an S-tier pick for every loadout. If you want a safe way to kill stragglers while running laps around zombies, you won’t find a better augment than this.

1 Tribologist – PhD Flopper

Black Ops 6 Tribologist Augment

Type

Minor

Effect

Sliding distance and speed are increased.

Perk

PhD Flopper

The best movement augment in all of Black Ops 6 isn’t from Stamin-Up. That honor goes to Tribologist, an augment for PhD Flopper that doubles your slide distance and sliding speed. In other words, your slide effectively turns into a short-distance dash that you can trigger whenever you want. It covers vast distances and can be chained if you input a slide while midair. Slide off a surface, slide immediately when you land, and you’ll fly across the map.

You can pair this with PhD Slider to become a sliding missile.
