In many ways, WWE 2K22 was a hard reset for the franchise. The hiatus between WWE 2K20 and WWE 2K22 let Visual Concepts go back to the drawing board, nail down key features, mechanics, animations, and just general gameplay and stability overall, and it has led the franchise to great places. That trend continued with WWE 2K23 and WWE 2K24, and fans will no doubt expect the same about WWE 2K25.
Right now, WWE 2K25 is one of those games where everyone knows it is happening, even if there is not much going on around it. It’s an annual franchise, first off, but Take-Two has also acknowledged WWE 2K25. Its recent financial report suggested it would release before the end of March 2025, which makes sense given that every previous entry was released in March. While not exact, it’s possible to narrow down the possible release date of WWE 2K25 based on past iterations.
WWE 2K25 Release Date Will Be March 2025, But We Can Narrow It Down Further
WWE 2K22, WWE 2K23, and WWE 2K24 Release Dates
- WWE 2K22: March 11, 2022
- WWE 2K23: March 14, 2023
- WWE 2K24: March 8, 2024
Of note is that March 11, 2022, is the second Friday of that month; March 14, 2023, is the second Tuesday of that month; and March 8, 2024, is the second Friday of that month. As a result, a safe bet for WWE 2K25 would either be the second Tuesday or the second Friday of March 2025. This would either be March 11 or March 14, 2025. It is possible this changes to some degree, but if not these dates, a Tuesday or Friday in March makes the most sense. That could include any of the following:
- March 4
- March 7
- March 11*Most Likely*
- March 14*Most Likely*
- March 18
- March 21
- March 25
- March 28
That said, there is one possible wrench in this plan. News regarding each WWE 2K entry since WWE 2K22 has come out around the Royal Rumble, and the Royal Rumble (calendar date-wise) is taking place later than it ever has before. Between its inception in 1988 and the latest Royal Rumble in 2024, it has always taken place in late January. Royal Rumble now takes place on February 1. Other than it being a little jarring, this really isn’t a major change and it’s practically the same weekend as before, but it’s worth noting for any WWE news. WrestleMania 41, for example, is even taking place just a little later than usual.
Overall, it seems unlikely that the Royal Rumble taking place a few calendar days later will affect WWE 2K25, but it’s not impossible. And either way, fans can expect it to land in March 2025 on one of the aforementioned Tuesdays or Fridays.
