Pokemon GO Player Has Ridiculous Luck After Using Adventure Incense

Key Takeaways

  • Rare shiny Galarian birds are easier to catch during Daily Adventure Incense session, and one player proved it.
  • They caught Articuno and Moltres during just one 15-minute walk, showing off their new Legendary shinies on social media.

One lucky Pokemon GO player recently hit the jackpot while going on a Daily Adventure Incense walk, netting both their first and second catches from the legendary Galarian bird trio. The Galarian birds and the Daily Adventure Incese share a close connection in Pokemon GO, but encountering two of the legendary creatures in one session is almost unheard of.

The Daily Adventure Incense in Pokemon GO is a feature that players can activate once a day. First launched in July 2022, the feature opens a 15-minute window in which new, and sometimes rare, Pokemon will continue to appear on the map for the item’s duration. Unlike normal incense, however, Daily Adventure Incense only works if the player stays moving continuously, and players have reported that moving greater distances within the allotted timeframe has resulted in the appearance of more Pokemon.

Pokemon GO’s Wild Raid Pass Controversy Explained

Pokemon GO and Niantic are receiving complaints and controversy surrounding an event, with some players upset about the game’s Wild Raid pass.

One player, who goes by the Reddit handle SpiderPigNYC and represents Pokemon GO‘s Team Mystic, recently shared an image of their haul from one 15-minute walk, which netted them a hefty haul of 15 different Pokemon. Among that number were two legendaries: a shiny Galarian Articuno and a shiny Galarian Moltres. While the player has encountered members of the Galaraian bird trio in the past while playing Pokemon GO, the Pokemon had always run away from the battle, making the double catch during one Daily Adventure Incense session all the more special for them.

Lucky Pokemon GO Player Nabs Two Shiny Galarian Birds in 15 Minutes

There is a logical reason why these were the first Galarian birds to not run away from the player. Pokemon GO initially released the Galarian birds a few years ago, but players complained en masse that their catch rates made them incredibly difficult to obtain, and the birds would often flee when encountered in the wild before a player could successfully get one into a Poke Ball. With that criticism in mind, Niantic actually made catching shiny Galarian birds in Pokemon GO easier than catching their normally colored counterparts. The shiny versions of Galarian Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres only appear when a player is using their Daily Adventure Incense, and while their catch rate difficulty hasn’t been decreased, they lack the ability to run from encounters with players.

While using a Daily Adventure Incense is the only way to encounter shiny Galarian birds, there are plenty of other rare Pokemon that can be found through other methods. Niantic recently made one of these methods easier for players, releasing a surprise upgrade to Pokemon GO remote raid passes that simplifies the matchmaking process of assembling a team to take on some of the game’s toughest Pokemon.
