The base game came out over a decade ago, and it included a handful of social events back then, so it’s no surprise that it has gotten much longer now with all of the DLC that has been released for The Sims 4 since then.

Whether gamers have any of the DLC or prefer to stick to the base game, this list will provide them with a handful of general tips so that they can guarantee they acquire a gold medal at the end of the social event.

Just like in real life, it sometimes helps to have additional money to use on a social event. If the Sims aren’t doing bad financially, they can increase their chance of getting a gold star for their social event by hiring a few extra people. It never hurts to go with a mixologist who will prepare drinks for the guests, an entertainer, who will play music, and finally, also a caterer who will take care of the food.

It can sometimes happen that the hired service isn’t doing what they’re supposed to, in which case, the Sim throwing the event should remind them what their job is. Hiring all of these people isn’t the only thing a successful social event needs but it’s a good start if the player wants the guests to have fun.

8 Get The Mood Right

One of the more demanding tasks that can be complicated for some players is to have a certain number of Sims feel a certain way at the same time, for example, playful or flirty. It’s difficult to achieve a unified mood in The Sims 4 simply by talking to Sims separately. However, there’s a way how to move forward with this without the Sim talking to their guests at all.

It’s necessary to have an object with the right emotional aura in the place where the event’s happening. This object can be a painting, for example, a rare rock, a painting, or a decoration. Whatever it is, turning on its emotional aura will affect the Sims on the lot and increase the chance of fulfilling the task and getting closer to the gold medal.

7 Select a Lot With the Right Traits

The demands vary according to what type of social event it is, but some more typical skills that are useful to master include Cooking, Gourmet Cooking, and Mixology.

4 Have the Hosts Feel Good

It might seem like a given but it’s still easy to forget this. In order to throw an awesome party in The Sims 4, the host of the event should not only feel happy or confident but should also have all their Needs taken care of before the event starts.

If the Sim is feeling miserable, angry, they’re hungry, or about to pass out from a lack of sleep, they won’t be able to do all the required tasks. As a result, it will become impossible to get to the third tier and receive the gold star.
