God Of War’s Freya Actor Open To Standalone Game

God Of War's Freya Actor Open To Standalone Game

Key Takeaways

  • Danielle Busitti, who portrayed Freya, revealed that she would be interested in returning for a solo Freya title.
  • Information about her willingness to step back into the VA booth comes via a God of War panel at MCM Comic Con Birmingham.
  • As it stands, we know that Sony Santa Monica is working on a non GOW-related IP, though another GOW title could be in the works if a job posting is to be believed.

While God of War Ragnarök wrapped up Kratos’ story pretty nicely, and the Valhalla DLC was a nice cherry on top of it all, more GOW content is always a good thing. And if Freya’s voice actress has her way, a solo adventure featuring the goddess would be in the works.

Speaking during a God of War panel at MCM Comic Con Birmingham, Danielle Bisutti, who portrayed Freya, said she would be open to working on a standalone title involving her character. As part of the panel, Bisutti hinted at her willingness to step back into the VA booth for the proposed adventure.

“Whenever Santa Monica Studios says to me: ‘Let’s explore more of Freya,’ I would love to see where her relationship with Kratos goes — such a beautiful friendship forged from grief and transformation”

The panel also featured Christopher Judge (Kratos), Sunny Suljic (Atreus) and Alastair Duncan (Mimir), with Suljic revealing that he changed his portrayal in response to negative feedback and Twitch streams.

Is More God Of War On The Way?

While a standalone Freya game would certainly be awesome, it’s unclear exactly if there is more God of War in the pipeline over at Sony Santa Monica. As it stands, we do know that Santa Monica is seemingly working on a non-God of War-related IP. That information comes via a LinkedIn profile, and could be in reference to the long-rumored Cory Barlog led space adventure.

That said, back in April, a new job listing for a senior combat designer at Santa Monica did mention God of War as a preferred qualification. Specifically, the posting had a preference for candidates fluent in both God of War (2018) and Ragnarök, hinting at the potential for another title.

For now, though, we’re stuck with envisioning just what a Freya-led game would look like. At least we know if it does happen, it’ll have her original VA.
