Key Takeaways
- Entrées offer more Energy and Coins, are worth pursuing despite being more difficult to make.
- Ingredients like Lemon, Garlic, and Swordfish for Lemon Garlic Swordfish can be found in the Forest of Valor.
- Sand Stew restores max Energy, sells for over 2,000 coins, & consists of ingredients from Glittering Dunes.
All food items in Disney Dreamlight Valley replenish Energy and can be sold for Coins at Goofy’s Stall. However, each Appetizer, Entrée, or Dessert is worth more or less Energy and Coins depending on how many ingredients they require and how difficult the recipe is to prepare. Entrées are worth more Energy and Coins, as they often require ingredients that are more difficult to find. Typically, Entrées require more ingredients than Appetizers and Desserts and players will use Energy to obtain said ingredients, so these dishes offer more in return.
It’s easy enough to keep a few bundles of berries handy to whip up a quick Berry Salad, which will replenish Energy steadily over time. However, the more complicated the recipe, the more Energy and Coins it provides in the long run. It’s worth knowing how to craft even the hardest Entrées for a longer-lasting boost of Energy to take on everyday tasks. Here are the best Entrées in Disney Dreamlight Valley to send that Energy meter sky-high.

8 Fugu Sushi
Seaweed Comes In Handy For More Sushi Recipes
- Ingredients: Fugu, Rice, Seaweed
- Energy Restored: 3,261+
- Selling Price: 1,373 Coins
Players can catch Fugu in gold pools in Dazzle Beach, but only when it’s raining. They can obtain Seaweed by fishing in open water anywhere near the Dreamlight Valley, so it’s worth stocking up on both Fugu and Seaweed to make Steamed Fugu and many different variations of sushi, respectively. As for Rice, it can be grown from Rice Seeds, which are purchased at Goofy’s Stall.
Fugu Sushi doesn’t reward as much Energy as Steamed Fugu, but it’s worth pursuing this recipe to get some additional Seaweed for use in multiple sushi dishes. It makes more sense to stock up on ingredients that can be repurposed for multiple recipes rather than fishing for Fugu to use once. Fugu Sushi also restores a good amount of Energy and is worth a lot of Coins for resale purposes.
7 Ghostly Fish Steak
Sells For One Of The Highest Amoutn Of Coins Of Any Entrée
- Ingredients: Here and There Fish, Lemon, Asparagus, Bell Pepper Oregano
- Energy Restored: 3,282+
- Selling Price: 3,548 Coins
The Ghostly Fish Steak is a trickier recipe than most, only because the Here and There Fish is only obtainable under certain circumstances. First, the player must progress Nala’s Friendship Quest — “Here and There and Back Again” — far enough to unlock the Here and There Fish. Then, it can only be caught when fishing between the hours of 6am and 10am and 6pm and 10pm. All the other ingredients are fairly easy to get by purchasing seeds from Goofy or searching the ground in specific areas like the Plaza.
It takes more effort to make the Ghostly Fish Steak, but it rewards more Energy than some other Entrèes. It also sells for a ridiculously high profit of 3,548 Coins, which is one of the highest of any dish.
6 Lemon Garlic Swordfish
Two Ingredients Are Accessible In The Same Area
- Ingredients: Swordfish, Lemon, Garlic
- Energy Restored: 3,713+
- Selling Price: 1,096 Coins
For a recipe with only three ingredients, Lemon Garlic Swordfish is a fast and effective Entrée to replenish a lot of Energy. Lemon Garlic Swordfish rewards almost 4,000 Energy, which is more than plenty for such a straightforward dish.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: How To Catch Koi
Koi is a golden, black-striped fish described in-game as a fancy carp. Here’s how to catch it in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
Players can find Lemon and Garlic in the trees and on the ground, respectively, in the Forest of Valor, so it’s worth grabbing both of those at the same time. Swordfish are found by fishing in gold pools in Dazzle Beach, but catching Swordfish requires a certain level of patience. It’s best to fish when it isn’t raining, as this will lessen the likelihood of gold ripples appearing.
5 Pan-Fried Angler Fish
Many Ingredients Can Be Repurposed For Other Dishes
- Ingredients: Angerflish, Tomato, Zucchini, Potato
- Energy Restored: 4,194+
- Selling Price: 2,250 Coins
Players can catch the Anglerfish in the Forgotten Lands. Every other ingredient in the Pan-Fried Angler Fish can be grown and harvested from seeds purchased at Goofy’s Stall. If players grow all the vegetable seeds at once, this recipe becomes a piece of cake to follow.
Some of those vegetables can even be used in other dishes, such as Tomato and Zucchini for Ratatouille, and Potato for Potato and Leek Soup. This way, many ingredients can be repurposed for multiple dishes and players can stock their inventory with plenty of Energy-boosting meals.
4 Lancetfish Paella
A Complex Recipe With A Large Reward
- Ingredients: Lancetfish, Shrimp, Any Seafood, Tomato, Rice
- Energy Restored: 4,550+
- Selling Price: 1,653 Coins
Although Lancetfish Paella has a lot of components and takes more time to craft, it rewards the effort with almost a full replenishment of Energy. Lancetfish, Shrimp, and Seafood in general are a bit finicky to catch and, since the recipe requires three different Seafoods, it’s not hard to see why players might shy away from this meal. However, instead of restoring Energy gradually with smaller, less fulfilling dishes, it makes sense to complete one hearty recipe on occasion to ensure that gameplay isn’t interrupted by frequent needs to cook.
3 Lobster Roll
Offers A Large Amount Of Both Energy And Coins
- Ingredients: Lobster, Wheat, Lemon, Butter, Garlic
- Energy Restored: 4,928+
- Selling Price: 1,959 Coins
Lobster is one of the most expensive Seafoods in both Disney Dreamlight Valley and in real life, so it isn’t surprising that Lobster Rolls sell for such a high price of almost 2,000 Coins. Just one singular Lobster Roll is enough to almost max out the Energy bar as well.

Disney Dreamlight Valley: How To Get Salt Crystals
Salt Crystals are an illusive new resource found in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s The Storybook Vale expansion. Here’s where to find them.
Players can find Lobster by fishing in gold pools in the Glade of Trust. Even consuming a single Lobster by itself will restore 1,600 Energy if players find themselves in a pinch. Wheat, Lemon, Butter, and Garlic are all easy to grow and find if they can’t be purchased outright from Chez Remy or Goofy’s Stall, so it’s only really the Lobster that’s a cause for concern. Even then, the payout in both Energy and Coins is worth the fishing expedition.
2 Poached Basil-Butter Sturgeon
Sells For Plenty of Coins And Almost Maxes Out Energy
- Ingredients: White Sturgeon, Lemon, Basil, Butter
- Energy Restored: 4,961+
- Selling Price: 2,284 Coins
If the Lobster Roll recipe leaves players with some leftover Lemon and Butter, they can use those ingredients can for another Entrée recipe that almost maxes out Energy. The Poached Basil-Butter Sturgeon also requires Basil, which is found on the ground in the Peaceful Meadow, and a White Sturgeon, which can be caught in gold pools in the Frosted Heights.
This dish sells for the second-most Coins on this list, so if cooking recipes isn’t necessarily about regaining Energy and more about lining pockets, the Poached Basil-Butter Sturgeon is a good place to start.
1 Sand Stew
Find All Three Seafoods In The Same Biome
- Ingredients Needed: Dunebopper, Sand Fish, Any Vegetable, Sand Worm, Any Spice
- Energy Restored: 5,000+
- Selling Price: 2,244 Coins
Sand Stew is a five-star Entrée with base ingredients that can all be obtained by fishing. It also permits the use of any Vegetable and any Spice substitute, which gives players more freedom over what to choose. It’s a good recipe to get rid of any odd items in the inventory, such as a stray Tomato or a bundle of Basil.
Duneboppers, Sand Fish, and Sand Worms can all be caught in the Glittering Dunes, so there’s only one destination needed to fish for three of the Sand Stew’s main ingredients. Players can use anything else in the inventory to finish it off. It not only restores max Energy and sells for over 2,000 Coins, but it’s an excellent recipe for freeing up any inventory space.
