Can Players Use Night Vision In Stalker 2?

Stalker games have been giving players the ability to use Night Vision to see clearly in the dark or catch enemies by surprise. Players have been finding ways to acquire any equipment that offers this functionality in the latest entry.

However, after spending a lot of hours looking for any means to enable night vision, players have been unsuccessful in their pursuit. It’s one of the most iconic features of the series, which begs the question of whether players can use Night Vision in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl at all.

Can Players Use Night Vision in Stalker 2?

Night Vision in Stalker (Used Image Effects to Replicate Night Vision)

The short answer is, no. Unfortunately, there’s no equipment or tool currently that allows players to use Night Vision in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The feature was not added to the latest entry in the Stalker game franchise despite being a fan-favorite feature.

Although it’s quite a bummer, developer GSC Game World has confirmed on Discord that the addition of Night Vision functionality might be included in their plans for a big update for Stalker 2 down the line.

Alternatives to Night Vision in Stalker 2

Although there’s no way to get Night Vision goggles or activate Night Vision in general in Stalker 2, there are ways for players to get around it. There are some alternatives in the game, and a mod, that can somewhat compensate for missing the Night Vision feature in the game.

Even though they’re not a proper solution, these can at least keep you busy until an official update drops adding the feature to the game.

Use the Flashlight

The flashlight is no replacement for the dedicated Night Vision mode in Stalker 2. However, it’s easy to use, is bright enough to light up a dark area, and doesn’t require batteries or any other resources to power it up.

Players can infinitely use the flashlight, and it doesn’t give away their position to enemies, which is a solid benefit.

Adjust In-Game Brightness

The default brightness settings for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl make the game look darker than it should be. While exploring the world, looking for items, and facing off against enemies, you’ll need to have perfect visibility of your surroundings. Otherwise, you never know what might pop out of the dark and send you to the game over screen.

Adjusting the in-game brightness settings can help brighten up the image significantly, allowing you to clearly see in the darkest environments the game has to offer.

Use a Night Vision Effects Mod

There isn’t a mod that can add a proper Night Vision mode or a tool into the game yet. But, modders have cleverly created in-game effect overlays that can simulate the way Night Vision works, allowing players to experience the game as if they were using actual Night Vision.

These mods are more for aesthetics than functionality, but they’re fun to try out nevertheless.
