Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 players want developer Treyarch Studios to remove the game’s unrealistic death animations from the game as they appear to be causing some severe visibility issues. The debate surrounding Call of Duty‘s outlandish operator skins, weapon blueprints, and death effects has been heightened in recent years, but Black Ops 6 appears to be taking things to another level with some of the new cosmetic items, and fans aren’t happy.

Despite being set in the 90s, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 features some crazy operator skins for players to purchase directly from the store or obtain via the Season 1 Battle Pass. But it isn’t just operator skins that have players annoyed, many of the store bundles also come with a variety of other wild cosmetics, with the most popular ones being tracer packs. These packs not only change the tracer animations for bullets but also include new death effects when eliminating an opponent. Although these types of bundles have been available in previous titles, fans believe some of them are causing serious visibility issues in Black Ops 6.

Black Ops 6 Players Want Treyarch to Get Rid of Wild Death Effects

Over on Reddit, user Tryexx_Lannister posted a short video showcasing how the game’s death animations can lead to unfair deaths for some players. The short clip shows a player on the Black Ops 6 multiplayer map Pit, as they sprint around the corner their teammate is eliminated in front of them. While this usually wouldn’t be much of an issue, the death animation completely takes over the screen and prevents the player from seeing the opponent right in front of them, resulting in their death. The user calls for Treyarch to get rid of the animations or allow them to be disabled. Thankfully, there is a way to do exactly that.

As pointed out by fellow Reddit user MonscheX, players can head to the in-game settings and disable gore to remove these unrealistic death effects. However, there is a downside. While the setting will stop players from seeing the animations caused by these new Black Ops 6 store bundles, it also disables gore, meaning players will no longer see any sort of blood when they eliminate an enemy. Unfortunately, there’s no way to keep gore enabled without seeing the controversial death effects, so fans will need to compromise if they want them gone.

This isn’t the first time that Black Ops 6‘s unrealistic operator bundles have caused controversy, as fans recently called for the shooter to return to its old-school roots and get rid of the outlandish skins and weapon blueprints. This is a debate that the Call of Duty community has been having since the days of 2014’s Advanced Warfare, but with neon green dragons now sprinting around in multiplayer matches, fans seem to have had enough.
