Call of Duty: Warzone has come a long way since its initial inception in 2020, now delving into its second generation. 5 Vondel

The map features seven main POIs, ranging from the small Town Center to Port Ashika, with its main attraction being Tsuki Castle, located at the very center of the map. Additionally, the map includes a subterranean waterway that harbors a secret bunker — a unique feature that sets it apart from other Resurgence maps.

Of all the Resurgence maps introduced in Warzone, Ashika Island is arguably one of the most visually appealing, showcasing an Eastern aesthetic with stunning set pieces. Tsuki Castle itself is a standout location, complete with cherry blossom trees and the grand main castle. In terms of gameplay, Ashika Island is undoubtedly one of the more chaotic maps, especially in the areas between major POIs that lack usable cover. Numerous vantage points are also pretty difficult to approach, such as the apartment complex opposite Ōganikku Farms, the main stronghold at Tsuki Castle, and the hotel near the Beach Club — which was sure to be the reason for many players heading back to the lobby during its rotation with Vondel.

3 Rebirth Island

Alcatraz also served as the setting for one of Call of Duty’s most iconic Zombies maps: Mob of the Dead, making it one of the more nostalgic locations for players to dive into. 2 Area 99

Much like Rebirth Island, Area 99 falls on the smaller side when it comes to Resurgence maps, featuring 10 unique POIs, each mostly blending in with one another to serve as different components of the site. Some of the standout locations include the Reactor, Pods, and Mannequin Assembly.

In terms of gameplay, Area 99 is nothing short of chaotic, with the large Reactor at its center providing excellent sniping vantage points, along with other elevated portions of the map that players can use for quick traversal. There is also a unique mix of open areas for longer-range battles and confined buildings for tactical close-range encounters. Throw in redacted weapons, the Specialist Perk, and other returning mechanics, paired with Black Ops 6’s omnimovement system, and players have a solid map that offers hours of exciting gameplay.

Taking the number one spot is Fortune’s Keep, the Resurgence map that debuted during Warzone Caldera before later reappearing during Modern Warfare 3 Season 2. Fortune’s Keep takes players to a remote island and falls on the smaller side compared to some other entries. While receiving some small geographical changes during its debut in the second iteration of Warzone, the map remains largely the same, featuring 11 unique POIs, each serving as prominent hot zones for battle.

The main attraction of Fortune’s Keep is, of course, the Keep on the north side of the map, providing elevated areas for players looking to snipe their opponents from long range. The map also features subterranean areas throughout, much like Ashika Island, offering places for players to take shelter between gunfights or engage in tactical close-quarters combat. In addition to its fixed areas, Fortune’s Keep also includes a mobile POI in the form of the Research Vessel, adding a touch of variety to the gameplay.
