Brawl Stars Shade Guide: Abilities Breakdown
Shade’s Passive/Trait
Shade has two traits:
- Radius: Shade charges his Super by staying close to enemies.
- Water: He can move or hover over water.
Shade’s Attack: Haunted Hug
Shade’s primary attack, Haunted Hug, is a short-range attack where he hugs any enemies you target in a 150-degree wide arc.
This attack can pass through walls and deals more damage to your enemies caught in the center of the hug than others.
Shade’s Super: Incorporeal Form
His super, Incorporeal Form, is also a very short-ranged ability that allows you to do a short dash through enemies and various environmental obstacles for five seconds.
During his super, he leaves the physical world and gains a movement speed boost that allows you to hunt your enemies while passing through anything in your path.
Tips for using Shade’s Super
- Use it to disengage from a fight: In Brawl Stars, you can land into tricky situations at any point in time. You should use his super to escape such situations. For example, if you are low on HP or outnumbered, you can use his super to dash away and reposition to a better location.
- Take advantage of the environment: Shade can pass through different obstacles making him incredibly versatile, so use it to your advantage to ambush enemies, poke from different angles, regain health, or relocate when your teammates are not near you to support you.
Brawl Stars Shade Guide: Gadgets and Star Power
Gadget
Longarms
When activated, Shade’s next main attack range is increased by 50%, which can be quite useful to turn around the match during crucial moments.
Jump Scare
When activated, Shade summons ghosts around him that spook nearby enemies, slowing them down for four seconds.
Star Power
Super Speedster
With this Star Power, Shade gains a short movement speed boost if he hits opponents with the center of his primary attack, Haunted Hug.
Hardened Hoodie
This Star Power grants Shade a 30% damage reduction whenever he is in his super, Incorporeal Form.
Best Gears for Shade in Brawl Stars
Damage Gear
The Damage Gear will boost Shade’s damage even more as he already does double damage to enemies caught in the center of his primary attack. This gear will provide 15% extra damage during clutch situations when his health is below 50%.
Shield Gear
Shade has moderate health and Shield Gear can be a good addition to help him engage or poke enemies, as it provides an extra 900 Health as a consumable shield allowing you to take more damage. Additionally, the shield regenerates in ten seconds, when Shade is at full health.
Gadget Charge Gear
Since both of Shade’s gadgets are very useful in tricky situations, the Gadget Charge Gear can be a great addition to his build. This gear increases the number of gadgets you can use per battle by 1, giving you an extra advantage which is enough to turn the tide of a match in Brawl Stars.
