The Last Of Us Fans May Have Discovered New Season 2 Cast Member

Eagle-eyed The Last of Us fans think they might have found out who plays a new character in HBO’s season two of the series, and they could actually be onto something. For many gamers and newcomers to The Last of Us TV show, season two really can’t come soon enough. Season one’s finale was left on an emotional cliffhanger as Joel caused absolute havoc at the firefly hospital in a bid to save Ellie from an operation that would end her life, but save humanity. After eventually fleeing with his surrogate daughter, the pair hiked towards Jackson, with Joel finally allowing himself to talk about Sarah and Ellie opening up about Riley in exchange for the truth about what really happened at the hospital. However, when confronted, Joel blew his chance, so it looks like season two viewers can expect major repercussions because of his deception.

The Last of Us season one’s ending has set up a lot of potential storylines that aim to mirror Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2, especially that of Abby Anderson, whose father was the surgeon that Joel killed in the hospital. As many know, Kaitlyn Dever will star as the grief-stricken and revengeful character, alongside other new faces, including Jeffrey Wright as Isaac and Catherine O’Hara’s mysterious character. Cast members from season one will return for season two, including Pedro Pascal (Joel), Bella Ramsey (Ellie), and Gabriel Luna (Tommy). However, there are still characters from the show whose roles are still currently unknown, but investigative fans think they may have figured out who plays one of them.

New The Last Of Us Season 2 Character Possibly Discovered

In a post on Reddit, The Last of Us fans believe they have found the actor behind a season two character, who is seemingly called ‘Malcolm.’ In HBO’s most recent trailer for The Last of Us season two, a naked person is seen being held captive and tortured by Isaac Dixon, the ruthless and cruel leader of the Washington Liberation Front. Although viewers don’t get to see much in this particular scene, fans have discovered that the prisoner, who is likely a Seraphite, is apparently played by Ryan Masson, according to IMDb and images from Masson’s personal Instagram.

Masson has previously starred in The Last Stop in Yuma County as Miles, Issac in Proximity, and a part in the film, Frontier Crucible. He’s also had parts in NCIS, Good Girls, and 9-1-1: Lone Star. Regarding who he might play in season two of HBO’s The Last of Us, the assumption is that “Malcolm” is a Seraphite Prophet, who is part of a religious faction that worships a woman who believes herself as a messiah and believes that the infection was caused by human sins. In The Last of Us Part 2, Abby witnessed Issac torturing a Seraphite in one of the cells, so this scene could be the one that will play out in season two.

As fans make the agonizing journey to The Last of Us season two’s release in the spring of 2025, more teasers and cast reveals from HBO should be making an appearance as we inch closer. Previously, Isabela Merced, who will play Dina, has shared that her biggest inspiration going into the series was Bella Ramsey, and they are someone she looks up to, even though Ramsey is much younger. It will be really exciting to see if Bella and Isabela’s chemistry is just as strong in the TV show as it was in The Last of Us Part 2.
