Riot Games has revealed the new terms and conditions (ToS) for VALORANT and League of Legends. These are significant changes which not only affect the game, but also streamers. Here’s everything you need to know about them and what can call for a ban in VALORANT and League of Legends now.
Riot Games Implements Stricter Policies in updated ToS

Riot Games has announced significant updates to the League of Legends and VALORANT terms of service (ToS) which will go live on Jan. 3, 2025.
The first significant change is that the developer now connects off-platform conduct and behavior to their ToS. This means players’ behavior on a stream while playing or having a Riot Games product in the background comes under the ToS.
In the past, no one could report streamers or players for saying hateful slurs about an opposing player or teammate on their stream. Starting January 3rd, 2025, people can report streamers for this behavior on the official Riot Games website.
The second change in the ToS focuses more on sponsors of various streamers. Now, Riot Games will penalize brands that promote account boosting services or buying/selling accounts. In the past, Riot Games banned players for boosting accounts in VALORANT.
With the new terms, streamers promoting such pages can have their accounts banned. If you feel your account has been wrongly suspended, you can appeal for a VALORANT unban.
The last change concerns stream snipping. Players reported for stream snipping, and various streamers can now have their accounts banned. This kind of ban will take time due to the required proof against the individual. One must note that if a player is found guilty of doing this in VALORANT, they can also lose some of their access within League Of Legends.
