When Peacemaker returns to HBO Max next August, there will be plenty of familiar faces, even if some of those most favored among the fan base are gone. However, for those who are mourning the loss of people like Clemson Murn or Detective Sophie Song, it appears they got a bit of an olive branch this week from James Gunn and the rest of the people in charge of Peacemaker Season 2.
The end of Peacemaker Season 1 was rather choatic and the chaos and death that took place certainly wiped more thna a few characters off the board. However, most of the main group of Peacemaker’s crew made it through the final battle and new teasers for the upcoming season show that it appears those who made it out alive are coming back to do even more crime (or aliens), fighting alongside some new faces like Rick Flagg Sr. There is now also at least one antagonist who will return for Peacemaker Season 2.

Judomaster Returning For Peacemaker Season 2
In addition to the confirmed returning cast members such as John Cena, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, and Danielle Brooks, Judomaster actor Nhut Lee also took to his personal Instagram to announce he will return in Season 2. He did so without much fanfare, though it caught plenty of eyeballs. The actor started the post by saying that it was a wrap on shooting for Season 2. He then made it clear that he’d definitely taken part in the production saying, “I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve been cooking up. DC fans are gonna be eating good! I’ve had so much fun and met some incredible people.”
Just how Judomaster will fit into Peacemaker Season 2 is of course, still unknown. He was not a member of the team that fought the butterflies in the first season and in fact, often went toe-to-toe against Peacemaker and his squad as they didn’t understand that there was a group of the alien insects that didn’t want to take over the world in violent way, but instead were looking to bring peace and advancement to the human race through deception. There were several times when Judomaster seemed to have been killed off, only to pop up again and again. It was his small stature and ability to beat up just about everyone he came across that made him so popular. Now he’ll return.
While Peacemaker Season 1 was actually part of the pre-James Gunn DCEU, the character is being brought into the DCU and fitted into the timeline after the events of the new Superman movie as well as Creature Commandos. That is one reason that Frank Grillo’s Rick Flagg Sr. is an antagonist (likely working in concert or alongisde Judomaster) has been introduced as a kind of link between all three projects.
By the time Peacemaker Season 2 hits HBO Max at the end of next summer, it will have been almost three years since the show debuted. However, it was clear the popularity of the streaming series was calling for a second installment. Judomaster’s popularity among fans demanded the same.
