But, after testing plenty of different keyboards, my favorite has been the Asus ROG Falchion RX Low Profile, and I think it could be yours too.
I’m a huge fan of mechanical switches, which give a satisfying click with every press of a key, but I’ve found many of the quiet options to be – surprisingly – not that quiet at all. I’ve also been a lifelong fan of full-sized keyboards until recently, when I appreciated the amount of desk space that a 75% or 60% keyboard can offer. Firstly, the low profile nature of the keyboard makes it very comfortable for typing and gaming. Many other keyboards, including models from the likes of SteelSeries and Razer, have standard-sized keycaps, requiring more movement to hit your required keys. The Asus ROG Falchion RX Low Profile is fittingly sleek, meaning I can type very comfortably without straining my wrists.
It’s one of the quietest keyboards I’ve ever used for typing, which is extremely helpful as I try to avoid loud keyboards while working from home for many reasons, including annoying family and friends who pop over. However, it still offers the same satisfying feedback that many want from mechanical switches, just without the usual noise level.
The build quality and lighting are equally exceptional, with a solid construction that oozes a premium feeling. That also means it has a decent weight, and the keycaps are UV-coated ABS – admittedly, I wish they were PBT keycaps as they’re more resistant to wear. However, that’s a small gripe for what is, right now, the very best keyboard on the market in my eyes.

It may still sound like a lot of money, but you’re getting a premium keyboard that I rate very highly, so much so that I actually bought a second one at full price for a family member.
If you like additional little gimmicks, the Asus ROG Falchion RX Low Profile has some cool features that make it even more of a worthwhile investment. There’s a touch bar on the top left of the keyboard that you can adjust using the Asus software, which you can use for media volume and controls, or as a mouse wheel, and it comes with a cover that is not only used to protect your keys from dust but also as a way to raise the height of the keyboard.
As an added bonus, it’s also wireless with Bluetooth or through a 2.4GHz connection thanks to the added dongle, with a great battery life of up to 430 hours. Or, if you’re like me, you can also use it wired like a standard keyboard.
