The Venusaur Drop Event is the second Promo-A event in Pokemon Pocket, following the Lapras ex Drop Event. Running for 14 days, the event lets players engage in Solo Battles against four Venusaur-themed decks across four difficulty levels: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, and Expert. The goal is to earn Promo-A Packs and unlock the Promo Pack Series A Vol. 2 cards featuring new variants of Venusaur, Greninja, Haunter, Onix, and Jigglypuff.
The new cards in the Promo-A Vol. 2 have the following drop rates:

- Onix: 23.84%

The Best Deck for Completing the Venusaur Drop Event
All decks in the Venusaur Drop Event are Grass-type, making a Fire-type deck the best choice. This archetype counters Grass effectively, providing a significant damage boost and a competitive edge.
The following Charizard ex lineup is one of the META decks in Pokemon Pocket for this event:
- Charizard ex (x2)
- Charmander (x2)
- Chameleon (x2)
- Ponyta (x2)
- Rapidash (x2)
- Moltres (x1)
- X Speed (x1)
- Poke Ball (x2)
- Professor’s Research (x2)
- Blaine (x2)
- Sabrina (x2)
The Best Rental Deck for the Venusaur Event
Blaine’s Rental Deck is a reliable choice for beating most decks in the event. It focuses on Rapidash, Magmar, and Ninetales, whose boosted damage is highly effective against Venusaur’s Grass-type decks.
Tips for Making the Most of the Venusaur Drop Event
- Restart frequently. Stamina is only consumed if you win, so concede and start a new match if the odds aren’t in your favor.
- Focus on higher difficulties. Unlock Advanced difficulty quickly, as it’s the most farm-friendly mode and the best place to spend your Stamina.
- Complete Battle Tasks on your first attempt. Since you’ll primarily replay Expert mode, avoid using resources for other difficulties. Finish their side quests on the first try for maximum rewards.
