Like any roguelike, you need to collect as much as you can of the primary currency in Ravenswatch. They allow you to upgrade your hero and do as well as you can against the tricky enemies and formidable chapter bosses you’ll encounter in any run.

8 Best Co-Op Roguelikes
Roguelikes are tough: optimal builds, staying alive, and beating difficult bosses. These games prove it’s better if you play with a friend!
In this game, that primary currency is called Dream Shards and they are used for a variety of things that’ll help not only between chapters, but during them. Therefore, you’ll want to know the best ways to farm Dream Shards to get them quickly, allowing you to spend as many as you want whenever you want to.
How To Farm Dream Shards
While there are Dream Shard crystals, both small and medium-sized, littered around the map in every chapter, breaking those isn’t the best way to get them fast. Those crystals don’t give you much in the way of shards, particularly for the time you’re spending defeating the enemies nearby and breaking crystals.
Instead, you want to head to the locations in which you’ll find the largest Dream Shard crystals. If you look at the mini-map, you should spot a crystal-like icon that’s glowing green. That indicates the location of a large Dream Shard crystal. Head there and break it to get 100 shards and really boost your reserves.
When heading to the location of a large Dream Shard crystal, you will have to take out a
group of enemies
, just as you do for every other event around the map.
All Dream Shards Uses
Once you’ve got some Dream Shards, you’ll have the chance to spend them. There are a few ways to spend them, so you’ll have to decide what makes the most sense for the run you’re on.
- Buy Additional Revive Feathers.
- Buy Upgrades Between Chapters.
- Buy Consumable items.
- Use 100 to get a Magical Object from the Wishing Well.
You’re best spending all of your Dream Shards at the start of a chapter, instead of saving them, because it will make your life much easier against the more powerful enemies.
You can see the number of Dream Shards you currently have in the bottom right of the screen, to the left of the mini-map.
