Such mounts like the Ashes of Al’ar are certainly very eye-catching, and the same can easily be said for the Astral Cloud Serpent.




Aside from the notorious Celestial Steed, there aren’t many mounts that look like they are made out of stars the way that the Astral Cloud Serpent does. If you want to look like you are riding a constellation in the night sky, here is how you can obtain the Astral Cloud Serpent in World of Warcraft.

In order to get the Astral Cloud Serpent, you will need to go to Mogu’shan Vaults, a raid located in the northern part of Kun-Lai Summit in Pandaria. There is no means of getting up there with a ground mount, so you will need to fly. Mogu’shan Vaults can easily be soloed at Level 50+ on any difficulty. The Astral Cloud Serpent drops from the second to last boss, Elegon.

Elegon has a rare chance of dropping this mount on all difficulties except for LFR. If you want to get the most amount of gold and loot to vendor, select Heroic 25-Player. Like with every raid, Mogu’shan Vaults can be cleared once per week per character. So if you want to make several attempts per week, you will want to have several characters that are a high enough level to solo the raid.

Other Ways To Get the Astral Cloud Serpent

If you don’t want to spend weeks (or even months) farming the Astral Cloud Serpent, there are a couple of other ways to potentially get this mount. The Black Market Auction House sells a variety of expensive items every day, and often one of those items could be a mount like the Astral Cloud Serpent.


The problem with this method is that there is no way to predict what will be sold on the Black Market Auction House, and even then you would have to win the inevitable bidding war. The Black Market Auction House is intended to be a colossal gold sink, so even if you do manage to get the Astral Cloud Serpent, it will set you back significantly in terms of gold.

You can also get the Astral Cloud Serpent from the Unclaimed Black Market Container, but it is not guaranteed. It could contain an insanely rare mount, or it could have a completely useless Mists of Pandaria epic. Take heed of the warning in the flavor text: buyer beware.
