Just days before the new Season starts, Fortnite Chapter 6’s gameplay-focused launch trailer has leaked and given us our first look at new parkour mechanics, katanas, and the big boy himself – Godzilla.

As any Fortnite fan will be well-aware of by now, we’re just a few short days away from Remix’s finale, which will cap off Chapter 5 and kickstart a whole new era for Fortnite. Although Epic Games usually likes to keep its cards close to its chest, that’s not been as much of a priority for Chapter 6, as we already know the theme and some of the Battle Pass characters.

Although some of the mystique that was present for Chapter 5 (which gave us Lego Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing) is missing here, that hasn’t stopped us all from wondering how many surprises were in store for the next Chapter. As it turns out, there’s quite a lot that we didn’t know about Chapter 6 that has just been revealed by a leaked gameplay trailer.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 Gameplay Trailer Has Leaked

Over on Twitter, reliable Fortnite insider ShiinaBR shared the leaked gameplay trailer, which comes from Twitter user Guille_GAG. The launch trailer would likely have been shown following the ending of Fortnite Remix: The Finale, but it’s been shared a few days ahead of time by insiders who somehow had access to it.

The launch trailer gives us our best look yet at Chapter 6’s map and shows how much the new theme has transformed things. More importantly, though, it shows us what’s new in the gameplay department. One of the first new things that’s shown is some improved parkour mechanics, as a player is shown rolling from a big jump and then being able to run up a wall. We also see wall-jumping a bit later in the trailer.

Baymax is also shown off in the trailer and can be heard making his signature fist-bumping noise. I guess that means Baymax is as powerful as Eminem and can actually speak on The Island.

We then get to see a katana melee weapon being used, which will likely be one of the new Mythic weapons found around the map. The trailer also puts a lot of attention on a blue blob that follows the player around and can seemingly be used to generate shields for the player and any surrounding allies.

As well as highlighting some big bosses that can be fought around the map, Fortnite Chapter 6 also seems to be introducing masks that can be worn and used for special powers, such as a fire mask that lets you shoot, you guessed it, fireballs. And, of course, the trailer ends just as Godzilla gets there to shake the ground and roar, backing up the leak that he’s a boss character.
