That said, JJK did officially come to an end with chapter 271. Ever since then, the author has not commented on whether the series will ever get any sort of continuation, be it a small one shot, or a mini spin-off. As things stand, fans are desperately waiting for more Gojo content, in one way or another, and there certainly is potential for an exciting story about this individual in the future.
Gojo’s Death In Jujutsu Kaisen Shocked All Fans
- Gojo vs Sukuna kept fans on the edge of their seats
- Gojo lost his life at the end of the battle
Gojo’s death in JJK was absolutely massive and marked an abrupt end to his character arc. He was sealed away in Shibuya, and the Culling Game saw him finally return. After quite a lot of hard work by the sorcerers, Gojo was eventually freed, and immediately after that, his battle vs Sukuna was set up. A month or so later, Gojo versus Sukuna officially began, and this was the fight that every fan of the story was waiting for. Gojo himself knew that he would end up fighting Sukuna one day, and the latter promised that he would go on to kill him at some point later right at the very beginning of the series. The clash of the strongest began with Gojo versus Sukuna, and it was absolutely magnificent.
Fans came to love this battle to bits, and it showcased the height of Jujutsu sorcery to the readers. There was no other sorcerer in JJK like Gojo and Sukuna, and it is through them that KK highlighted how skilled sorcerers can truly be and in what way Jujutsu can be utilized. Minds were blown in this segment of the story and fans were left utterly amazed, with chapters that kept them on the edge of their seats each passing week. Eventually, this enthralling battle came to an end And it wrapped up with the death and defeat of Gojo Satoru. Sukuna continued to fight against the other sorcerers, but the peak of this arc died with Gojo.
In JJK chapter 271, things wrapped up permanently and this was a few chapters after Sukuna was defeated by Yuji and killed for good. With that, JJK successfully concluded. But, fans weren’t entirely satisfied with the ending they got. Due to the many health-related issues that the author faced, JJK’s ending was slightly rushed and there are still many unanswered questions and mysteries that fans want to know the answer to. There are also many other characters that fans would want to know more about in the future of JJK, and one can only hope that a mini-series in the future fixes that.
Is There Any Chance Of Gojo Returning?
Gojo’s Return Depends On What JJK Content Fans Get In The Future
Of course, fans want to know the chances of Gojo returning in the future in some way or form. To answer that question, two things need to be addressed, and the first is incredibly important. First and foremost, JJK has to continue in order for Gojo to return. As of now, the author of the story has not mentioned that he wants to continue the series. But, that certainly doesn’t mean that there is no hope for JJK to continue in the future. What can be said is that JJK cannot continue as a long-running series anymore. The main story is officially over and it appears that Gege’s intent is to focus on his new work in the future before tackling anything related to Jujutsu Kaisen. But, there still exists potential for one-shots or mini spin-offs.

Jujutsu Kaisen: The Future Of The Series, Explained
JJK still has much to explore in its story. Is there any future for this manga?
For instance, when Naruto ended, the author of the story certainly did work on a mini-series that focused on Sarada Uchiha and the mystery surrounding her parentage. He also did a one-shot which was recently released last year, and, at the same time, fans also remember Kishimoto doing the movie called Boruto: Naruto the Movie, which fit into the canon. Just like Kishimoto did all these things after the conclusion of the main story, one absolutely can see Gege doing it as well, even if he has plans for a different series. As such, JJK will not continue as a long-running manga anymore but as a one-shot, a spin-off of a few chapters, or a movie.
With that being addressed, fans can now come over to the issue of Gojo. What is clear by the ending of the story is that Gojo is dead for good. He’s not going to return in the story if there is a sequel. The only way he can return in a sequel is through a flashback, at best. But fans don’t know what kind of sequel, one-shot, or movie JJK will get if any at all. Gojo can certainly return if the one-shot, movie, or spin-off series is actually set in the past. For instance, fans could see something set before the beginning of JJK. In that case, Gojo would most definitely be present in the story and fans would get the chance to enjoy this character once more. It is also possible that in a series that covers the future after the end of Shinjuku Showdown, Gojo can be focused on through a flashback, especially if the Gojo clan is focused on. Certainly, there are ways to incorporate Gojo into the story, and fans could potentially see him return.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s Future After Chapter 271
JJK Still Has A Lot Of Potential
After JJK chapter 271, there certainly is still a future for the story. Fans could either see a spin-off that focuses on the adult version of the characters, and, in that case, Gojo can perhaps be incorporated into the story through exciting flashbacks. One thing that fans desperately want to see is more light being thrown on the Gojo Clan. In this way, fans will definitely see much more about Gojo’s upbringing, and the weight that he held in the Jujutsu world as a whole.
It is also possible for JJK to get a spin-off set in the past. For instance, a one-shot or a mini-series surrounding the Heian era would be absolutely incredible to see. Of course, fans will definitely not get to see Gojo in that case, but, perhaps his ancestor could then show up in an exciting manner. The possibilities for an exciting future for JJK are limitless, and it all depends on what the author wants to do from here on.
Jujutsu Kaisen’s last chapter, JJK 271, was finally released on September 29, 2024. Fans can read the series on the Manga Plus and the Shonen Jump apps.
